Attending more interviews get you comfortable with the process. I guess the stress is partially due to the fact that you are unemployed?

Ask questions related to work life in the interview. The most you can do is see if the role and manager are then a good fit. Other than that, I would suggest not worrying about this as its out of your control.

If at all there are red flags, start the job search early enough so you could secure your next role without leaving the current role.

Step by step TS, first priority is applying and interviewing. Good luck!

I have the same predicament as you. Also 30 as well brows.gif
Though I bear with my workplace for now till I found my next job.

Don't feel scare. You already have nothing to lose. I would advice you to take on any job now especially you are unemployed.
At most if the next job you take are not keen to your liking you could always resign within probation period.
Before doing so of course you should already have your next job before quitting.

It's normal to feel anxiety..
I have worked more than 15+ years and I still feel nervous when going for job interviews. I don't go to interviews that much and I have only joined 4 companies thus far.

Don't worry about the new company, just let the future unfolds.
Most importantly be confident in your interview and you will get the job.

Man I feel you alot
I've been job hopping through this 3 years after I graduated, the gap in my resume is starting to hurt me as I can't stay in a job longer than a few months without feeling overwhelmed and quit on impulse, then had a breakdown/hate myself episode

Just quitted my 5th or 6th job because the office is hot and there's no water dispenser (seems like the boss wasn't bothered as he's not always in office), the boss doesn't want to hire older employees (like 35>) because to him people that age doesn't wanna work harder...I know it's all just excuses but idk, when I got overwhelmed and had a strong rejection towards the job my productivity just went 0 straight

It's my second month pretending to have a job (dress up and go to a nearby coffeeshop, spend the whole day applying to jobs)

Stressed of finding a new job
- Just spam as much as you can, i spam alot of jobs before.... once u are selected then only worry the rest of the things...

The interview
- Treat every interview like a learning experience for you, even you dont get the job, but u will gain the experience (make sure you record your interview and recap back and see in any area that you should improve). The more you attend the interview, the more you will feel the comfort and confident.

Worrying about working life in new company
- This is normal because we deal with uncertainty, but just remember that you can always jump to another ship if you are not happy (but dont make the same mistake, try to get the job first then only jump).

I have this thought as well, instead of just applying for jobs everyday
But then wouldn't it bite you back if in worse case scenario you kept quitting jobs and your reputation got stained (bosses tend to have wide networks, plus it's the digital era where info spreads fast)?

Hello Womyai,

Good day to you. Hope all is well for you.
It is normal to have anxiety, we can first acknowledge that, however, we shall not let it affect us, and focus on the things that help and support ourselves:

# Focus on the interview preparation: study about the company that invited us for the interview; study about the role that we applied for; study the relevant knowledge about the industry.
# Do things that help improve your energy level during the job hunting period: exercise; reading; meditation; etc.
# Explore new things during this phase, there is no better time to explore new things during job hunting time.

During the interview, feel free to ask those questions that really matter to you, do remember that interview is a mutual and two-way thing, whilst the hiring manager are interviewing you, you are also interviewing the hiring manager. Pay attention to those small but important things like the chemistry that you have with the hiring manager; whether you can vibe with the hiring manager (as you will be reporting to the hiring manager, this is very important); what are the values and principles of the hiring manager, etc.

Best of luck to you in your job hunting friend. My prayers for your career well-being.

Some experience need to be learned the hard way. I'd experienced the consequences of frequent job hoping and resign without securing another job.

1st of all, don't be choosy. Try not to get low-ball offer but also don't expect rainbow and sunshine. 2ndly, change your mindset especially if you're the kind of people who always compare with peers.
