Today I finally tried the Penang restaurant!


Char kuew teow..doesn’t taste like char kuew teow at all, more like a unholy mix of Malay wet and Chinese char kuew teow…disappointed but at least it is fried with 猪油炸, something I haven’t ate in a very long time


Hokkien mee…when I saw cabbage on it, I already feel the disappointment… :x
In the end, fail also..idk how describe, like missing something in the soup, taste absolutely not like prawn soup.


While dinner wasn’t great, I’m happy to finally balik kampung again!

You can politely ask for more wok hei & pork rind, less wet CKT.

Sini no banana tree at all, all imported the banana.

U should check the review…it’s like those Malaysian stay in oversea countries that review 4-5 stars, all tastebud rosak or something.

At least your CKT looks like CKT, the one i had in the US. CKT kosong, only noodles + onion + chili sauce + little bit of egg. price USD9. ordered it because Menu said "Penang Char Kuey Teow". Kena Scam 99

CKT punya fish sauce cannot get in Japan.

Cili boh for hokkien mee i believe also not available.

You can open Malaysian cuisine restaurant in Japan too, you can win over Penang restaurant. Unholy green cabbage in hokkien mee not acceptable. Must be cooked pale lel.

quadcubeIn Penang, most wet market do sell per-packed Penang Hokkien mee paste. All you need is add shrimp stock to make the soup.

Scold them in hokkien. Then they will know you are kakilang and cook authentic one for you. Not the localised version.
