brudder, i would defend the nurse.
she has recorded a 38 degree which is not normal
heatwave or not; there is an abnormal reading

if the nurse DISCHARGE your baby and say it is a HEATWAVE but turn out she is wrong later and your BABY came back with profound sepsis and DIED. Guess who is responsible.
At least she take the initiative to send your baby to appropriate centres to work it up and LUCKILY it is not an infection

Mind you, baby with infection DO present with jaundice most of the time.
The nurse DID nothing wrong.

is 38 even abnormally high for infants? might be high for an 80 yo, seems within range for a small mammal human.
