Hi all,
I'm a father of 5 days old premature baby of 37 weeks. lm writing this post to share and seek advice regarding misdiagnosed, unprofessional, and terrible treatment by Klinik Kesihatan Rantau Panjang toward my baby. 

TLDR-

1. go KK for jaundice bloodtest
2. Nurse measures baby temp on crazy hot HEATWAVE afternoon
3. Doctor suspects sepsis without checking other symptoms except for the temp
4. Crazy duo called ambulance and registered at Tengku Ampuan without consent or discussion
5. Trying to detain my wife and baby when we are going to nearest hospital, Columbia Klang
6. Baby gets venepuncture and injected with antibiotics on 4 days old
7. Blood culture shows no viral infection, unlikely sepsis
8. Because KK misdiagnosed, we suffer emotional and financial damages

My baby having jaundice, Hospital mentioned we need to do bilirubin test a day or later, at KK or BP after discharge.

On 4/5/23, we notified KK about our baby's birth as MOH website stated and also KK instructed prior to birth. The nurse was surprisingly quick to respond to our message and booked an appointment for the test, which is 2pm on HEATWAVE weather.

We arrived at 1:45 pm, KK Rantau Panjang is temporarily relocated to KK Kapar due to renovation, so we are seated in a tent with some shade net, it is still awfully hot because of the weather. Baby is sleeping while waiting for the nurse. Got called in at 2:15pm, there is air-cond inside the small building, but it is nowhere near an air-conditioned room.

Things started to become outrageous from here, Nurse Ziham measured the baby's temp after letting us wait in a no-air-conditioning area during a freaking HEATWAVE hot afternoon, the reading is 38c and nurse started blaming tone "anak fever pun tak tau???" despite my wife mentioning it is really hot and heatwave now... and requested to let the baby rest at another building or my car that is well air-conditioned, Nurse replied "ini sawan, aircond tidak akan bantu baby turun suhu" This really shocked us!! 

While they trying to cool down my baby with some wet cotton, my wife got called in by Dr. Harchnah, and she starts blabbering about the blood test reading being really messed up and decided to send the baby to the hospital Tengku Ampuan, but my wife suggested we will be sending the baby to Columbia which is nearer, Doctor says we cannot do that because they already booked ambulance and registered at Tengku Ampuan without our consent! when we insist, they told us even if we want to send to Columbia, we need to be discharged at Tengku Ampuan first, then only be able to send the baby to the hospital where we wanted. It's getting really weird and beyond our understanding. We questioned, if you call an ambulance for an emergency, then why are you wasting time arguing with us instead of letting us bring the baby to the nearest hospital right away?? they starts threatening to call the police and took away the rekod kesihatan ibu & bayi while trying to detain my baby and wife, luckily baby started crying because of feeding time, then only allow baby to be fed in my car

All that happened while l was cooling the car, l returned to the KK after my wife bring the baby to the car. That crazy nurse and doctor are nowhere to be found, a lady talk to me instead without identifying who she is, l listed the incident above and she avoided those topics, with only one forward action which is sending the baby to Columbia. She told me, even if we go to the hospital, doctor might not take in our baby... unbelievable! l made a call to Columbia Klang, the Paediatric agrees to take in the baby, and rekod kesihatan is finally returned to us.

Columbia performed a venepuncture on my 5-day-old baby and took her blood for 2 tests, a normal one and blood culture. We have the normal blood test report on the first night, the Paediatric showed us nothing too wrong with the reading, blood cell count, pallet are within range, told us to wait for the blood culture report, which is able to confirm whether my baby has a viral infection which will lead to sepsis, in the meantime, she will inject antibiotic to my 5-day old baby. 

on 9/5/23 we have the full blood culture report which shows no virus to be found at all, I'm really angry and frustrated at this point despite our repeated effort on telling the KK our baby is fine and doesn't show any symptoms, and also the way they measure our baby temp is questionable!!

because of their unprofessional behavior, my wife was very depressed when the baby's admitted, my baby had to suffer the venepuncture and be injected with antibiotics at 4 days old, and l had the burn a few thousand RM and time and energy because of this misdiagnosis.

guys, my family doesn't deserves this, any advice on how to escalate this to the right authority/person is very much appreciated!

Baby is fine now, the blood culture report shows my baby was never sick to begin with, this really make me pop blood vein

I might go other KK, but not this crazy one

Yes the doc went for this asap, although doc says no side effect for taking antibiotic this early, thoughts?

Then screw it, no more KK for me

Prenatal check up also like this, arrive 8am, 11:30am then done, l dont mind waiting, but l really cant brain how they handle my baby

Baby doesn't show any other symptoms except that 38c temp reading, we had 37c reading at collumbia

Someone mentioned aduan can be made, l see how that goes first

1. 38c okay they did a few more temp reading, there is one in aircond room, its 37.4, they meassure a lot of spot also, forehead, ear, toe and armpit they decided to send baby to tengku ampuan is mainly because of this, and they avoided to test it again when my baby is awake and drinking in my car

2. Columbia have reading of 37 before any antibiotic injected, during baby admissions of 2 days, we keep asking is baby developing fever? Nurse and doc says no, could be antibiotic, nvm, we have infarred themo for ear and forehead, we continue monitor baby temp after discharge, getting 36.6 to 37.5c, highest will be armpit, we get a 38c reading at home once, because we cocoon the baby with too much thick clothes

3. Why we insist on going columbia, because nearest, l had admitted to columbia for dengki once, l know how blood sucking they are, if not because of they forcing me must have a doctor consent, l will go back to uitm puncak alam, they already mentioned anything happened to baby can go back, as long referral letter is presence

4. Tengku ampuan, yes l have experience with it also, everything is slow like poslambat except emergency care, not to mention visiting hours, and also don even know got nurse to tend my baby or not, at least private hospital l know if l pay, they can

5. KK react swift, all those 4-5 hours prenatal check and subtle intent shoving us away EG, ey u kalau ada check dekat klinik swasta, tak yah mari lagi, or kalau uitm ambil u, tak yah mari, and don even write us referral letter when we need it for uitm acceptance

During that day, all that farce lasted from 2:45 to 4:40 and ambulance is no where to be seen, l took the baby to columbia, admission and treatment was done on 5:30, and we didnt even go through emergency room

5. What lm most dulan about, there is literally no discussion at all, read blood report, 38c bam u go to tengku ampuan, when we ask question, bam police report, tegur tegur, until that lady with no indentification come out for descalation, it is very heated, l don even know if l walked into gangster turf or a klinik
If l burned few K for my baby to be safe, l even prayed no viral infection to be detected, but l just couldnt get off the all that weird and crazy incident during that KK visit

6. Like what most K said, private hospital is no saint, until l went home to check what diagnosis and treatment, nobody told me it is sepsis, the paediatrics also a bit information hiding, thats how l feel on it, but l feel safer for the baby, because they want money only, l duno what this KK want

When we opt for private, my wife overheard they talking about will have scratch record if they cancel the ambulance

Summary, if they discussed and communicated, l would even go tengku ampuan, but on my own car, but sadly, all those forcing and threatening really makes me feel uncomfortable

I will try to answer as much as l can, baby has been pooping and drinking a lot, and l think my wife are having post natal depression, she keep crying to me everyday, so l need to do her part more
