Hm......china car no good even with full ADAS plus 5 star NCAP 5 stars ???

I think Chinese brands are going thru the same image issues as Korean cars did 30 or 40 years ago, and before that, Japanese cars when those first came onto the market against the continental ones.

all these platforms refer to the chasis/substructure design... has practically zero bearings to reliability

car makers don't really make a lot of parts in house... a lot is outsourced to oem... the same oem can supply parts to all other car makers... so it really depends on who made the parts and how lucky you are...

all cars will have problems... some sooner some later... time can only solve some systemic problems... but majority of failures are really batch manufacturing related...

Yea, I know that. as i said, no car is perfect. I will just choose from what i had in mind. i do consider quite few of DNGA platform cars, however, what i dont like is the interior looks, the reason i put them as “options”.

Don't worry so much. If you want to wait for a perfect car, you may never gonna buy a car. And miss out on all the enjoyment or convenient that comes with having a car.

So if you need a car or want a car and have the money for a car, I say, just go buy one. Life is too short to wait for the next perfect car.....

Nowadays i see lot of t20 target cars like vios, ativa and even saga. Are people becoming less show off?
*
Those t20 target those cars because they have felt what it’s like to drive a conti and sudah serik

Most of the people driving luxurious car on the road u think t20? No my pren, they are just flexing to cover off what they don’t have. I am t20 and true enough my next car will be a jap because simple living and not showing off and becoming a target or topic of discussion is my main priority now that I am older.

I got a rich customer that he has tens of million fortune. He only drive a Toyota Harrier and wife driving an old Alphard. He has no one to impress bcoz he doesn't need it.

Whereby my friend who earning about 10k a month and no rich background, he is driving a new Alphard. He wanted to impress others that he is successful in life. But the fact is wife not working and 2 kids and he feel struggle in financial sometimes.

A lot of T20 dont even own those conti cars, mostly are company cars.

I personally knew few T20 person, usually they only buy those normal cheap road cars for their own family but during work or need to show face they will only drive those big conti cars out. They are smart not to use their own name, but use company funds.

Most of them dont even care, as cars for them is nothing and can be change every 3 to 5 years.

It's the B40s and M40s that change their cars more often than the T20s group. Some of the T20s are more contended with what they have and they just live their lives as normal.

My weakness is cars.

Once I get into a marque, I go crazy until I move on to the next. At the height of my BMW fanboy days, I owned - at the same time, an F30 318i, the F02, F15 X5 because I wanted a 7 seater for my relatives when they came to visit, and my F13 M6.

Then, I fell out of love with BMW and in love with Porsche. I bought a Cayenne, a 911 GTS and a Macan within 6 months of each other. Was going to get the Panamera as well but wife put her foot down so I bought her the W223 S450L instead.

I’m probably at least T20 and I’m ashamed to say that I don’t behave like the T20 folk you described above.

One redeeming factor though - I only ever pay in cash and in full for my cars. No loans, so there is no leverage involved in their purchase.

You are not considered as T20. You are perhaps at T5 group. Hence, that’s a totally different group.

To be honest, I've never been a fan of the hot hatch philosophy. Wouldn't mind opening up my horizons, test driving one to be proven wrong though smile.gif

some of the >t20s i know changes car very often too...

world is full of diverse ppl... you cannot generalize like this... a guy after gotten through bmw/merc/porsche/jag ask my friend what to get next... my friend says bentley... sure enough the next yum cha session he showed up in one... lol...

imho... life is short, once your war chest is enough, feel free to spend on whatever brings joy...

most t20s didnt start life as t20s... quite likely everyone goes through b40/m40 stages... and what else makes b40/m40 changes car often?... you get married have kids smile.gif this i think is the single biggest reason to get bigger and bigger cars...

Depends, if company car they will change every 3 to 5 years as they want to deduct the tax out from their company accounts. For their business mindset why let goverment tax more which i can use the company funds to get me a new company car every few years?

That used to be my fantasy. I actually wanted to buy second hand M-sport front apron (valance) for my previous M6 but had to give it up because the width of the cars didn’t match.
