QUOTE(zio @ Dec 4 2007, 03:14 PM) Its your opinion, so you can obviously stand by that way. As I said, its more than just making another add-on should they lose, its more like a consumer lashback if they lose. It goes to the whole HD-DVD and Bluray camp, not just Microsoft. Which is why both sides are fighting it till the end. Toshiba can easily make Bluray players if they choose to. The PS3 is also more advanced than the 360 and the Wii. You dont see them winning the console war. Do I need to elaborate on that? HAHA... Gotcha.. Whoever says PS3 will win the console war? We are not even talking about the console war. Even that, I did say Microsoft wins. No, sorry, it's not about the winning format or console, it's about you winning an argument. I rest my case. QUOTE(zio @ Dec 4 2007, 03:49 PM) Lol, I am like that whenever someone knocks a death bell on some format which you did. You said the HD-DVD will lose and I think that is a prematured assessment. And the PS3 example was not to say that PS3 will win, it was more like to show that a more advanced machine/format/whatever does not equate a winning formula. LOL... I know. I got you about the console thing there. I just really want this format war to end, and I want my side to win! And I must say, fact is both BD movies and PS3 are gaining their momentum lately. Same for me. Though some are actually the titles that I want, but they are not on the top of my to buy list.
Already spent a lot on BD movies last 4 weeks, the wife won't approve this (not that I need the "approval permit" actually)

QUOTE(-=mayatsan=- @ Dec 5 2007, 08:38 AM) Michael Bay: Microsoft is the Real ProblemOutspoken director Michael Bay has once again posted a note on his website in regards to the format war, this time calling out Microsoft. He pointed out, similar to what many insiders have been saying for a while, that Microsoft was only trying to destroy both formats in order to usher in digital downloads. Mr. Bay called Blu-ray the "superior" format and hinted that Microsoft was behind the now infamous Paramount payoff. Below is the full post: What you don't understand is corporate politics. Microsoft wants both formats to fail so they can be heroes and make the world move to digital downloads. That is the dirty secret no one is talking about. That is why Microsoft is handing out $100 million dollar checks to studios just embrace the HD DVD and not the leading, and superior Blu Ray. They want confusion in the market until they perfect the digital downloads. Time will tell and you will see the truth. http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=722 Like I said, whoever lose, Microsoft wins. And if Michael Bay is right, then both formats will lose! I still want physical media to prevail. I want to own it with nice box arts, put my collection on the shelf and look at them anytime I want. Sure, digital downloading will still be there, but physical should not die. Plus, our ISP sucks. Now both camps has a very good reason to dump their 360! QUOTE(rx330 @ Dec 5 2007, 09:50 AM) arj, without seeing nature journey, i think it prevails planet earth planet earth aint the best pq, but it sure is demo material to those who are new to HD , u show them crank, or potc, or apocalypto they won really notice, but once planet earth its put on, they will go awe Agreed. How can my wife say the PQ for my POTC2 is "biasa saja"? I told her if that's "biasa saja", that means she must approve me to buy a full HD 1080p LCD TV. But then we watched Planet Earth. She said, "cantiknya bunga tu", "cantiknya pemandangan"... I have to assume she meant the picture quality, not the nature... BTW, POP, just got the poslaju. Thanks! Dhl just called yesterday to ask whats in the parcel.Told them to open and check. Still no news from them yet. Previously ordered using regular post kena tahan but got pos malaysia to settle, had to pay all in 50percent of the value of goods. One more rule I forgot to say about custom if shipping from oversea. You need to have some good luck. Sometimes kena, sometimes OK. 50%? Whoa... that's a lot... Nasib baik tak pernah kena, since 2002 wo... that's a record... (ckp besar nanti kena btg idung)...

Just got the Young Indy DVD, and some BDs within last few weeks. I think that law is there, but they tend to enforce it on big shipping only, or, like I said before, your own luck...

QUOTE(pAnGuInDa @ Dec 5 2007, 01:21 PM) Hi simonst, Is bad to hear that your priority courier service package kena tahan by customs, if kena tax, I suggest don't paid for tax and ask DHL to send it back to the sender. You don't have to pay anything and write to Amazon, they will pay you everything back included shipping charges. The Quote from the email I got from them month ago when my shipping kena tahan using DHL, but it end up letting it go, guess i'm lucky "If you do not want this order, you may refuse this shipment when it arrives. Refusing the shipment allows you to return it without having to pay for return shipping. If the package is delivered by mail and you are not present when it is delivered, you may write "Refused--return to sender" on the unopened box and leave it for your postal carrier to pick up. If the package was delivered by another carrier, please contact the carrier for instructions on refusing the package. We will refund you in full, including shipping charges, when we receive the returned package. If it is not possible to refuse the shipment, you may of course return this to us for a full refund. Visit our online Returns Center to print a postage-paid return mailing label at http://www.amazon.com/returns."and again you can order and try your luck again, well, the bad thing is that you get your stuff much later. Better than paying all those taxes. Cheers. Good idea there. Curious, how do they refund?

EDIT: Oops, sorry, you said PM only, OK. Blade Runner. Wannna get that one too. The 5 disc ultimate edition, the one that looks like a metal briefcase? Yeah, was looking at Amazon. Their specs usually not that accurate. I already know about the cheaper 5-disc, but not sure about the metal case. Thanks for your info there. Here are the specs in case anyone is curious: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE Specs Revealed for Blade Runner at Comic Con Posted July 26, 2007 by Josh
Warner Bros. Warner Home Video has revealed the specs for the upcoming 5-dics Blu-ray edition of 'Blade Runner', which is to feature all five cuts of the film, including a brand new cut which director Ridley Scott is finishing in post-production right now. No price has yet to be set for the release, but it is due on store shelves December 18th. A limited edition will be available to collectors, and will come packaged in a case which looks similar to Rick Deckard's own briefcase. Inside the case (which will be individually numbered) will be a frame of the original film, a miniature unicorn origami figurine, a miniature replica spinner car, a collector's photograph, and a letter from director Ridley Scott. Details of contents of the Blu-ray edition:
Disc One: RIDLEY SCOTT'S ALL-NEW "FINAL CUT" VERSION OF THE FILM
* Restored and remastered with added & extended scenes, added lines, new and cleaner special effects and all new 5.1 Dolby Digital Audio. Also includes: * Commentary by Ridley Scott * Commentary by Executive Producer/ Co-Screenwriter Hampton Fancher and Co-Screenwriter David Peoples; Producer Michael Deely and production executive Katherine Haber * Commentaries by visual futurist Syd Mead; production designer Lawrence G. Paull, art director David L. Snyder and special photographic effects supervisors Douglas Trumbull, Richard Yuricich and David Dryer
Disc Two: DOCUMENTARY DANGEROUS DAYS: MAKING BLADE RUNNER A feature-length authoritative documentary revealing all the elements that shaped this hugely influential cinema landmark. Cast, crew, critics and colleagues give a behind-the-scenes, in-depth look at the film -- from its literary roots and inception through casting, production, visuals and special effects to its controversial legacy and place in Hollywood history.
Disc Three: 1982 THEATRICAL VERSION This is the version that introduced U.S. movie-going audiences to a revolutionary film with a new and excitingly provocative vision of the near-future. It contains Deckard/Harrison Ford's character narration and has Deckard and Rachel's (Sean Young) "happy ending" escape scene. 1982 INTERNATIONAL VERSIONAlso used on U.S. home video, laserdisc and cable releases up to 1992. This version is not rated, and contains some extended action scenes in contrast to the Theatrical Version. 1992 DIRECTOR'S CUTThe Director's Cut omits Deckard's voiceover narration and removes the "happy ending" finale. It adds the famously-controversial "unicorn" sequence, a vision that Deckard has which suggests that he, too, may be a replicant. Disc Four:
Disc Four: BONUS DISC - "Enhancement Archive"
* Featurette The Electric Dreamer: Remembering Philip K. d*** * Featurette Sacrificial Sheep: The Novel vs. The Film * Philip K. d***: The Blade Runner Interviews (Audio) * Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep Cover Gallery (Images) * The Art of Blade Runner (Image Galleries) * Featurette Signs of the Times: Graphic Design * Featurette Fashion Forward: Wardrobe & Styling * Screen Tests: Rachel & Pris * Featurette The Light That Burns: Remembering Jordan Cronenweth * Unit Photography Gallery * Deleted & Alternate Scenes * 1982 Promotional Featurettes * Trailers & TV Spots * Featurette Promoting Dystopia: Rendering the Poster Art * Marketing & Merchandise Gallery (Images) * Featurette Deck-A-Rep: The True Nature of Rick Deckard * Featurette Nexus Generation: Fans & Filmmakers
Disc 5: WORKPRINT VERSION (newly remastered) This rare version of the film is considered by some to be the most radically different of all the Blade Runner cuts. It includes an altered opening scene, no Deckard narration until the final scenes, no "unicorn" sequence, no Deckard/Rachel "happy ending," altered lines between Batty (Rutger Hauer) and his creator Tyrell (Joe Turkell), alternate music and much more.
* Commentary by Paul M. Sammon, author of Future Noir: The Making of Blade Runner * Featurette All Our Variant Futures: From Workprint to Final Cut Taken from Blu-ray.com.

QUOTE(rx330 @ Dec 5 2007, 04:09 PM) 5 bluray disc.... all abt bladerunner.... all same story.... repetitve eh? but i remember the price dem cheap for 5 disc:D Yeah, it's 5 disc, but the price is like for normal 1 disc BD movie. $27.95 at Amazon. That's actually normal, they put the price on the title, not on the number of discs. Unlike our pasar malam. So doesn't matter repetitive, well worth the price.
