i can't seem to install AppSnap from jailbreakme.com for some reason. Safari loads the site, but after i click on "Intall AppSnap" Safari will just hang there & nothing happens. so i need to switch the iPod completely off & on again.

running 1.1.1 (3A110a) after downgrade. tried a few times already & it's always stuck at the page "Loading"...
i also tried going to jailbreak.toc2rta.com first before going to jailbreakme.com...Safari does crash as expected, but jailbreakme.com still gives the same result as above. This post has been edited by kimganner: Dec 9 2007, 03:28 PM |

finally got it jailbroken via jailbreakme.com *phew*
but rather than going to the main page itself, i loaded the actual download's URL instead : jailbreakme.com/files/y.tiff (if i remembered it right) worked on 1st (re)try hit another couple of snags during the actual jailbreak tho... 1) windows.bat did not run - Rather, the MS-DOS Command Prompt came up for a split second & closed in a split second - Solution : i realised that it was cos i didn't have the latest Java (v6.3) installed in my computer...apparently installing it into Firefox doesn't count in Windows Land. gotta install on IE. pffft. 2) "Cannot connect to device.....................blahblahblah restart computer blahblahblah" - I followed ipodtouchmaster's video step by step, closed iTunes & killed all the related processes (AppleMobileDevices, iTunesHelper, iPodService), even restarted the computer as advised by the error message...no dice - Solution : everything went fine & jailbreak succeeded...when i did not check on "Install SSH", though in the video he said to check that option. so now my question is...what's the "Install SSH" for? so far, all my 3rd party apps work fine as far as i can tell. though i can't figure out how TTR works. i tried the iPhone apps like Mail & Google Maps, both work too. QUOTE(aku_ker @ Dec 10 2007, 05:42 PM) Install ssh, will install secure shell protocol in ur ipod, this is use when you want to transfer manually files (themes, apps) into your touch using cuteftp for example. Otherwise you will get error like "connection refused".Anyway you can install openssh from the installer. oh, ok...thanks for the explanation. i saw the OpenSSH in Installer. but not sure what it does so don't dare to install. |

QUOTE(me0wSter @ Dec 12 2007, 10:27 PM) No it does not.. Read a few pages back.. actually it does leh...but as long as you remember to reset the iPod before bringing it in to the service centre (if possible), i.e. revert to factory setting to get rid of the jailbreak stuff. then you'll be fine. if Apple finds out you've jailbroken the set, then they can choose to not fix the iPod. or they will fix it, but at a price. Finally manage to change the "Slide to unlock" text.. QUOTE(Mike3300 @ Dec 30 2007, 12:07 PM) What are the do more in Mails that you think iPhone has much features? Haha, don't say KL cause even search for Malaysia it was listed as Unknown Location. While Singapore is a small country heck even Google Maps knows the country. You can try to pinch in and inner to get to the exact location. having a Google office in S'pore probably helps to make sure Google Maps knows the country... |

ermmm...not sure what is touchfree, but as far as i know, so far all the jailbreak techniques require downgrading the firmware from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1 first & then use OktoPrep after jailbreaking, then upgrade back to 1.1.2 & then jailbreak one more time...in a nutshell.

is there any way to toggle the AutoCorrect on/off? it's starting to drive me nuts cos some apps like NemusSync aren't very responsive when it comes to cancelling the AutoCorrect.

QUOTE(Stereomanic @ Sep 16 2008, 10:02 AM) So have they jailbreak the ipod touch 2g yet? if this question have been answered i apologize and would like to be directed to the post if you dont mind. i think you need to give ppl some time lah. they will need to actually get hold of a unit first & i suppose that involves having to buy the 2G iPod touch on their own like any other customer with their own money. then only can try to jailbreak. then once can confirm the jailbreak is successful, it will be released. |
