Finally today i m forced to link my device to TnG ewallet app.

Is it really better security? Anyway i have no choice.

Cannot. I m shocked when i try to pay this morning, ehhh need to link and need to scan the face somemore.

Been using it for almost a year.
I would say it's very reliable and secure.
But there were once or twice the server was down and I couldn't reload.
Ive used it to pay my house bills, fill up gas as well as do some bankings like transfer funds, etc.

It's not a choice now right?
If you don't link it, u can't use the app.

Wads the linking for? It works fine without linking

just link lah. it allows only 1 device to use your account.
this way harder for scammers to dupe your app on a virtual device, etc

when you change device, just link to new device. easy peasy

On 3rd april, I saja saja did the face scan thing.. suddenly so quick verified already.. all these while, do face verification using any app, so difficult.

So in my case, I terverified.

But usage still the same.. I thought after this no need to put pin if scan QR but still need to enter pin. Aiyo..

If its to prevent hacker to login at another phone, then how if owner change phone or lost phone?
If owner can link/unlink phone easily still it defeat the purpose to deter hacker still able go scam ppl into linking to their phone

Nothing is fool proof lah. Even 2fa system can be phished as u said, just making it harder for phishers (not hackers )to scam u

Yup. TNG blocks you for 48 hours after change phone because they consider suspicious behaviour.
Maybank block you for 24 hours.

Every bank and TnG sure got different procedure to deactivate device link from old device and activate new device, imagine the headache to go thru for each bank and TnG.

Why don't they just link to the mobile number instead of the device.

I just tried 5 mins ago. I just clicked "maybe later" when prompted to link. Still can proceed to scan code.

Cb TnG everything. Needs link device. Link device also needs face. Change password so need face.

Good luck emailing TnG takes 2~3 weeks to reply using template reply. Weekends their email box full reject your reply. Maybe calling might be faster but likely long queue.

I linked TnG to Lapsada & Klook but not bank. To have piece of mind, maybe you can subscribe the wallet safe.

Really troublesome when u changed phone, every bank also got different procedure to unlink and link a new device. Imagine the hassle to set up a new phone moving forward, it's gonna take days before your life resume normal.

but the benefit outweighs the pain; especially if it is you yang jadi mangsa account kena pecah masuk. at least now there is time to prevent immediate ransack. i hope there is notification on the original device whenever a new login on a new device attempts to invalidate the original.

aku yang tak kerja financial, apatah lagi berkait dengan kad tng, ewallet, rfid pun boleh tepuk dahi. argument hentam tng, ewallet, rfid macam orang tak ada ilmu. dia tak nampak opsyen, tak nampak logik implement, tak nampak restriction; tapi orang lain yang dikatakan bodoh sebab tak ikut nafsu dia. betullah bila didakwa, segala macam "pakar" ada dalam ni.

Pity ppl with lots of banks, need to unlink/link for every device, probably have to go to the bank/ATM.

What happened to me recently, old phone spoiled, tried go ATM to activate the new link device, then find out ATM card already expired (long time don't even use cash ), have to apply leave to go to bank just activate the new device. Imagine if have to repeat this for a few more banks....

Lol I wonder how many times will u change phone or loose ur phone.

Today can use, later tomorrow suddenly cannot use.

Just like yesterday I can still do online banking with TAC on Maybank2u, then today suddenly cannot TAC anymore, bank keep sending APP verification to my old spoiled phone. So added new device, but get 12 hour cool down period before I can do any online banking...

Each time u changed phone, u have to link new devices for every bank and TnG you got. The hassle is enough to spoil your mood for at least few days or even a week depending on how much hassle involve for each bank.

I change phone roughly 2-3 years once, maybe i may change soon?

How about reset phone? Will it able to detect as same phone and allow login?
Idk coz the linked device page only show phone model and activatio date. Is it linked to imei?
