Dear Sifus,

I'm looking for a gaming laptop budget below 6k or slightly above 6k if it's really worth it. Mostly for gaming.

Preference

1) performance
2) bigger screen
3) good after sales servixs
4) future proof for upgrades if possible

Appreciate suggestions.

Generally I think most here will suggest Lenovo Legion for that budget
I don't know of any specific models to recommend rn but do take a look at their offerings

GPD Win Max2 / AyaNeo 2.
I have the Win Max2 and I game a lot with it. It's a handheld PC that you can conveniently game anywhere. I finished the whole Dead Space Remake on it with no performance issues which lots of desktop PC users faced. The best part is if you want even more firepower you can connect it to eGPU and utilize the normal RTX40xx card.

With this machine, you are carrying a PS3/PS2/Arcade machine/WiiU/3DS/PSP/Switch/Xbox in your hand. It can run emulators very efficiently.

Hi TS,

Borrow your thread here as I'm in the same boat as you. Alternating between a desktop or laptop mainly for gaming (Diablo 4 to be specific).

My budge was a lil lower than you, around RM5k only though.

Ok back to topic, Aftershock Forge 15X caught my attention here but as I'm totally a noob here so any sifu can share some tips or comment about this laptop?

Aftermarket laptop model
On hardware side, you may refer to equivalent Sager model.
However the QC and warranty side, each aftermarket vendor set difference standard, so you might want to do some research first.

hmm tough choice, personally I trust Lenovo a bit more for reliability, cooling, design and stuff, so im honestly not a fan of Asus TUF

but Ryzen 9 on Asus...

check benchmarks for both of them I suppose

Yes i concur with you. Had bad experience with Asus previously for latop in terms of durability but that was many many years ago. Now not sure if they have improved. But like you said Ryzen 9 with a cheaper price tag does look enticing.

Nah Asus still sucks in terms of their quality, internal design and customer service.
Lenovo is much better in that regards

Both are using different class of zen 4

7745HX will be a bit better than 7940hs, but both are still 8 cores

My vote goes into legion pro 5, however if you need more portability and better battery life TUF will be better for you

Based on my personal experience.

I would go Lenovo because:
1. Legion is flagship model; while TUF is not.
2. Lenovo have better aftersale service compared to Asus.

After some looking around I went with Illegear Rogue at 4.2K RM due to the raya promo.

I did not go for mainstream brands as I wanted the customization experience. The Rogue is probably one of the few affordable 17 inch RTX laptops around thanks to the promo price.

if anyone still looking for laptop, Lenovo now got a promotion where you can get Touch&Go rebate up to RM1500. I just got Legion RTX 3060, for RM4800. Minus RM1200 from that Touch&Go and another RM1000 from my company claim, man I got new laptop for just RM2500++.
