as for fake USB drives they are actually 16GB drives .. so try writing above 16GB will cause files corruption.

see users review.... seem like same problems.... even is reputable mall seller.... i guess the genie of the pendrive still untrustable

USB 3.0 bandwidth does not really translate to "speed". Just like driving your kancil in F1 track doesnt make the kancil any faster. The bus is a speed limit, just like PCIE spec.

USB Bus transfer speed only matters if it doesn't bottleneck the real performance of the disk it self.. in general USB sticks are really bad for concurrent read/write.. it cant even saturate 2.0 bus how can it make use of 3.0?. Try to simultaneously create multiple task of reading and writing.. and see its performance go turtles..

An example would be an external HDD with USB 2.0 BUS will be faster than general pen drive on 3.0 bus .. in a multiple concurrent read/write.

If you file is small but alot it will slow down

I would suggest you to try on another computer to test it out. You can send to Convergent @ AMODA 7th floor located opposite KL Times Square as they are a Kingston official authorized distributor in Malaysia, to check whether the drive is genuine or not, also and you can send it back to them for warranty claim if you think there is something wrong with the drive.

USB,3.0 flash drive used slower chips.

U better off using a real NVME drive plus M.2 NVME to USB adapter instead.

I'm using the Ugreen brand and can easily hit 300MB/sec when transferring from internal to external drive.

maybe the PCB for the pendrive rosak2?

nah... it's cheap and i should have known cheap = sus....

it says USB3.0 interface enable but never say it will perform at USB3.0 speed... i have come to accept it and i am using it to load media file on my TV and so far it is smooth so i guess the slow speed is also good enough for me to watch media files smoothly, even those big 20GB file.... so for now i'm good... thanks!

its not, its genuinely how slow modern day cheap usb drives are
notice how they dont advertise speeds on their site, just say oh USB3.2 interface

I got one of these drives as well

I bought 2 of these Kingston thumbdrive but 64GB size version for about RM 20 each. The speed is indeed around 100 MB/s read and write is around 10 MB/s. As far as I can tell, it is genuine and managed to write 64GB video files into it and retrieve the videos back.

yeah, kingston did pull a fast one on this, but I expected these thumbdrives to be slow due to the price.

I'm afraid of buying Sandisk product already... 2 of their microSD card corrupted and i loss all the files
Another 64GB pendrive Sandisk representatives gave me as a gift for properly guessing their NAND design at a trade show also died after 1 use.


I got conned also. Bought the 256 GB Exodia for ~RM 75 to replace the dead Sandisk (read above).
And it's slooowwww. didn't even reach 10MB/s.

also bought from reputable store which i've bought several HDDs from in the past.

I just bought one with 256GB capacity, RM85, and believe me, it sucks to the max, transferring big files larger than 40GB took forever.
I have make another purchase of Sandisk Extreme Go 256GB RM226, and I think this time it won't goes wrong.

256GB shouldn't be RM85, at least wont be that soon.

I think generally if you're looking for good or high performance thumb drive, it should be more expensive one or big in dimensions, because extra circuit for dram or dual nand chips.

Tiny one you can forget about it, the advertised USB3. 2 gen 1 or 2 is very gimmicky for non savvy person.
It's just bigger bandwidth but not about the transfer rate
