Depends on your usage.
If already on the TnG ecosystem, worth it. Example. Every month I will reload 2-3K to TnG eWallet via online banking. For tolls and parking, will use the TnG RFID card and for daily expenses like groceries, entertainment or meals, will use the TnG Visa card. Safer too because I can freeze the card when not using. |

No direct cashback.
If you need some kind of intermediary in payment, then it’s useful. |

The card is pretty tho gotta say.
And uniquely they dont even print the 16 digit card no, expiry date and cvv no on the card. If you need to know you can only view it through your ewallet apps after keying your pin Its quite safety in that sense |

I got it after nearly a month of waiting.
Anyways, here is my short review after using it for for weeks already: Pros 1. Very safe compare to wave your own atm debit/credit card. Numberless card so no worry if shady merchants want to take note of your card number. Remember the pay88 unauthorized oversea transactions fiasco last year? 2. If you malas to unlock your phone to use the TnG app to pay especially when you are wearing facemask outside, just wave this card and you are good to go Cons 1. MAXIMUM 5 PAYWAVE & at MAX RM250 transaction (or reached total of RM1250) per day. So once you hit the maximum, you need to insert your TnG visa card into machine and keyin. That also have maximum 10 transaction with max rm250 per day IINM 2. Cannot use for tolls & parking. Need to use the NFC card or any other TnG normal card 3. RM8 annual charge So in conclusion, this card is quite convenient for quick paywave payment with peace of mind but at max 5 transactions per day. QUOTE(Current Events guy @ Mar 26 2023, 01:16 PM) Does it function like a debit / prepaid card? Yes, it functions as a prepaid card, and it does work very well in the way that you mentioned.I'm thinking of getting it if it is like that. Can use for shopee and then only put in the amount that I need. Feels more secure |

Like you said, if malas to unlock phone, can just wave this card. Definitely does not suit people who shop a lot because of the limit. For that, maybe can get bank debit card which gives better control on the limits. TnG visa is just for people who use the ewallet a lot, and wants a card that directly linked to the wallet. That's all, nothing more to expect. It's for people who want that feature. If don't need that feature, there is no need to get the card. Might as well just stick to bank debit cards. Once i hit the maximum, i will resort to using credit card, since unauthorized transactions dispute with the banks will take much faster time to settle compare to debit card. Speaking based on experience here. Lazy to unlock my phone because i am using aging iphone xs max that cannot unlock faceID when using facemask. And i can’t afford to buy apple iwatch (can unlock iphone via watch) just for that matter. |

It's more high class when you say you wanna make payment with visa card rather than take out your phone, unlock screen, open tng app, swipe to show qr code and network unavailable...

After apply it took them 1 month to sent to me. Email them reply is extremely slow and some replies is copy paste.
I think TnG visa is like replacement for CIMB prepaid cards (not atm cards). Cimb closed all their prepaid within a month they announce TnG visa is coming. |

Bro that was reason I took cimb kwik card last time. It's balance isn't tied to your cimb bank account. It's a separate account where you use their website or atm/cash deposit machine to transfer money into. TnG is same thing only its tied to be ewallet balance.Edit: autocorrect typo This post has been edited by LumbaKuda: Mar 26 2023, 01:51 PM |

I think this card is more for convenience like Bigpay's prepaid card. I also like to just use paywave for convenience. Also I like to automatically track how much I'm spending each month.

If you have monthly based subscription, its a good idea to use debit credit card and just have enough inside for each month's deduction. This prevents any unwanted charges that you may have forgotten about or accidental charges like in-app purchases made by children at home.
I use this for my netflix subs and google play subs. Peace of mind knowing I won't be a victim of unknown charges from the internet. |
