Why these state so poor????

I saw a McDonald's in Detroit, USA that had bulletproof glass windows, including on the counter.

Detroit (/dəˈtrɔɪt/ də-TROYT, locally also /ˈdiːtrɔɪt/ DEE-troyt) is the largest city in the U.S. state of Michigan.


It is also the largest U.S. city on the United States–Canada border, and the seat of government of Wayne County.








According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the national poverty rate was 11.2% in 2021, the same rate as in 2020.


These states and territories have the highest percentages of poverty in the country:

Mississippi, Louisiana,


New Mexico, Arkansas,


West Virginia,



Alabama, Kentucky,


the District of Columbia,


South Carolina, and Oklahoma.
