You're trying to 'solve' a problem of youth lying flat. Maybe go see how China / the rest of the world studies the topic of new generations disconnecting from society as a reference?
layflat or those hikikomori things, if kena depression or broken heart, you let them sink/hibernate in their room for 2 weeks the most, after they have to face the world again, seek external help if require.... once you let them continue for long period it will be harder for them to come out of the shell. those who are hidden away for years will eventually prefer starve to death then to come out. So many japan documentary about these happening.
TS and parents should set some rules, stay at home for free as long as young and stydying... once grad the kids should be expected to contribute to house hold (eletricity/internet) or even pay rent. parents can save the money for them and give back as downpayment is elite enough.
no commitment, sure la buang money here and there, just lepak at home while stretching out their ever savings, while parents folk out everthing, food, utilities, rent/etc
