Just be average is better then many people.

I sacrificed time and health. I take on extra projects or volunteered to work more. I studied from 10pm to 2am after my family slept. Even went to library to study during festive season due to exam. Been having this kind of life for the past 15 years.. (I'm mid 30s now)

Work is important but not until effect own health & family time...

Don't be so loyal.... Because anytime u could get kicked out for cheaper kulis.... People with lower pay....

For business that rely on worker, getting reliable worker is very important, and difficult too.

I guess that is based on the nature of the industry?
If you are in service industry, then human resource is the most important aspect. Other industry... not really.

Stop the blame attitude and work focused.

I notice many entrepreneurs are like that

My parent was sick. So required money and the job pays well since its a contractual role. So I work extra to avoid getting kicked out too. 😅

uncle was laid off couple of yrs ago.. now uncle do small biz.. .sell IT services and consultancy... biz ok ok only la competition alot and hard to collect payment sometimes.. but can survive la can put food on table lo... enough lo... average cari makan sahaja la...

Successful in career and/or in business = have a good self discipline (also have a good spouse also,hehehe )

Grit is all it takes no matter what you pursue

Dont work for a sg bank out of sg. Only work in hq sg. Pick up project management. Dont be that maverick who makes the whole sg division look stupid by saving so much money implementing A digital ecosystem from the ground up with only 1 brain and 2 hands vs a whole team. Analogy is the food origin sg vs malaysia

I concur. I made over 100m for the company. End up too much money the owner start to dispute and tear the company down. I end up jobless. Now have to sue the company for 1/2m

Some say work hard and you will get rewarded. In reality work hard only not enough...you will need to jilat kasuk. Doesn't matter if ppl tell u no need la, see result and talent but I tell u no human x suka jilat one. If u see 2 ppl with same effort and result, the one that jilat will go up faster..cause this creates VISIBILITY.

My annual income for 2023 will be around 370k + EPF + 15 Days AL + Medical + trainings + they pay for my certification exam etc.
Quite good international exposure and I get to work around latest technologies

Now i am working for myself. Even my boss during that time cheat me on my bonus.

would people believe me if i say i trade currencies passively (via robot) and earned 120 % so far ? - was a hobby turn into a side hustle

- hobby started in 2017 with 3 friends
- learnt and use machine learning to trade in Palm Oil Futures
- did not succeed but learnt a lot
- pivot to Currency trading and Crypto trading last year using statistics and Machine learning
- finally worked, so it was a 6 years journey to get to this point.


pros of this side hustle

- fulfil my intellectual curiousity and what i learnt can somewhat apply to my day job (systems and data science)
- side income for the profit made in trades ( can go up to about 2 k usd in some months )
- there are trade commissions to be made (can be about 50 usd per referee per mth ) if somebody sign up to a broker you recommend


cons of this side hustle
- can be stressful if trade goes against you in a bad month
- need to explain to traders who follow your trades during a bad month
- nobody knows what you are talking about sometimes ( too complex )
- very few people believe it



to be somewhat successful [B]

- hyper focus ( interestingly, i have ADHD , but i can hyperfocus on things that interest me )
- grit (willing to sacrifice and take pain upfront and tolerate the pain )
- curiosity
- aim to be the best in whatever you do
- intend to help
