The advice is everywhere that you should not mix tires of different tread patterns.

But how come there are no demonstrations of the effects of doing so, like those videos that show the difference between new vs worn tires when driving in the wet?

Try driving and pushing your car & tyres to the limit, then you will know why you shouldn't mix.

And what about the majority of us who dont do that

Mix at your own risk lo. Only 4 pieces of rubber is touching the road from your vehicle.

And this is exactly the reason I ask the question:

Why are there no demonstrations showing that this is actually a dangerous practice

if u are a runner, u can try mixing shoes. wear left cheap bata rm90, while right leg use adidas/nike rm400. the cheap one will bottleneck the expensive one. same goes to tyre. but if u disagree, its fine. we are agree to disagree

Please re-read my question properly ya

Tried tested proven.

With tires with mismatching grip, you will definitely induce understeer or oversteer. I oversteered while driving from ldp to sunway hospital, those turns near Taylor lakeside entrance.
