Hello all sifus, would like to share my experience in purchasing a new car and was wondering if anyone else encountered anything similar?

For context, I made an order for Myvi H last Sept 2022. I was okay with the waiting period and even got a bank loan approved.

Fast forward to early this Feb, my SA contacted me and told me the car is ready and I just needed to sign the loan and he'll sort out the rest for me.
So I signed my loan on the 22nd of Feb and paid my 10% DP the next day. My SA told me that the car will probably be ready for collection in early March as he needs some time to sort out the ehak milik and car registration.

Now mid of March, I've been following up with my SA for the past 2 weeks. I keep getting reasons such as: cannot register the car yet as he's still waiting for chassis number/waiting for the car to be delivered from the factory/car has been allocated to me but the HQ hasn't deliver the car yet etc.

It's almost gonna be a month from the day I've signed the bank loan and paid the DP, is it normal to have such a long delay? Or has anyone encountered a similar delay in their experience?

Not ranting nor complaining, just wanted to have a better understanding and also give the benefit of doubt to the SA.

Thank you sifus in advance! smile.gif

this is call kena con by sales advisor.

You only sign loan when the chassis number is allocated.

Mana ada sign and say cannot release.

Ask him to give you the chassis number then.

From loan signed to delivery at most also 1 week for car registratrion. 2 weeks max if so ngam puspakom or jpj system down.

is there a way to identify the owner of the car if I do manage to get the chassis number? or what can I do with the chassis number?

Nope. This is not normal at all. I suggest you call to Perodua's hotline and make your complain there. I think the dealer is beating around the bush on the delivery of the car. Most likely the car has been allocated to someone else instead and so they are waiting for the next unit to be given to you and hence the long delay.

unfortunately, he's not a direct SA under Perodua, he's the SA of a friend. so I believe I won't be able to complain to Perodua right?

You can still complain to Perodua because you make a booking with a particular dealer. So it doesn't matter if he is a SA of a friend. But then again, there is no black and white to say they are allocating you the car, just word of mouth. You can try your luck with Perodua HQ and hopefully they will make the dealer fulfill the order ASAP.

if you have the chassis number, you can report to perodua, and they can tell you whether its a real car or a fake car.

Or its already sold.

Thanks for the advice sifus, will do so!

Update: I just checked on mySikap and apparently there's already a road tax registered to my name starting as of today. So I guess I'm getting there? Slowly but surely? hmm.gif
