This has been the case for McClown ever since he taking over. Others use friendly games to try out new players/formation/strategy but he go on and play his first team instead  blink.gif
*
lol, and when he tries he new formation and loses, the media blasts him for failing to use 4-4-2. Hampek.

Aih.

- Carson is selected over one impressive performance?
- Crouch is starting without Beckham? (or in other words, an excellent crosser)

And watchin Sportscenter,

Crouch
Cole Wright-Phillips
Lampard Gerrard
Barry
Bridge Lescott Campbell Richards
Carson

I don't think a Lampard-Gerrard combo will do. Barry can replace Lampard's position and Beckham plays in the middle.

What the hell is McClown thinking? If England lost, all fingers will be pointed at him.

No striker? Alamak dude.

In the England squad (according to BBC)

England squad: Carson, James, Robinson, Richards, Campbell, Brown, Bentley, Ashley Cole, Shorey, Neville, Downing, Barry, Young, Wright-Phillips, Hargreaves, Lescott, Bridge, Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard, Joe Cole, Smith, Defoe, Bent, Crouch.

That's quite a lot strikers there.

Honestly if England can't take Croatia down ffs this time then probably the fans will have to stop thinking about any major trophy for next 5 years.
*
They can.

But they only must stop thinking unless McClaren is in charge. Haih. Too much experimenting at the wrong times.

---------------Carson
----Micah,Rio, Lescott, A.Cole
SWP,Lamps,Gerrard,Owen.H,J.Cole
---------------Crouch

FYI Bently not striker. Right winger.

He made the worst decision of his life in this game.

1. To start Peter Crouch alone without Beckham (or Downing to say the least)
2. To start Lamps and Gerrard (although this might not be a worse decision)
3. To start in a 4-5-1.
4. To not partner Peter Crouch with another striker
5. To actually not start the world's best dead ball specialist. (probably not anymore)
6. To start a goalkeeper who only shined in one game, ONE GAME. And that was against Austria. AUSTRIA FFS. AUSTRIA! I only know one player from there, Emanuel Pogatetz.

GAH. Sack McClaren. Sack McClaren.

how can england use right tactis and they win? =.='''' curious..

you are talking rubbish.. so what if mc laren use robinson? will england win?? and what if he did stupid error like carson.. then will ppl blame him y not chosing carson??
*
Nop. We are criticizing McClaren's way of using the players.
Why use Carson when you can use the most experienced goalkeeper, Paul Robinson? Yeah he has a few blunders, but he has international experience.

McClaren on the other hand, starts Carson because of his excellent performance against Austria. Only Austria. And only Austria meaning only one game.

Don't you think McClaren is kind of, say, suicidal?

No amount of coach can save England. Not now, not in the future. They seem to live in a bubble that shield them away from Europe. Their play never evolved from teh 60's. Players tend to play against each other so much that they forget they are teammates when they are playing for the same team.
What they need IS NOT limiting foreigners, but SENDING out their players. The best England players now that CAN perform on international level consistently are without doubt Owen, Becks, and Hargreves. Owen and Becks have played for Real before, and they learned to adapt to international situation. Hargreaves does not even come from any english club, but from Canada and plies his trade with Bayern, which is one of the best team in the world. Really, when he first played for England, he was booed by the english fan, just because he played outside england. What's wrong with that? Only when he plays with Man U that he is not jeered.
The FA is slowly choking itself to death. And I do hope it will be a slow and painful one
*
I nominate you to become England coach because you bought Malaysia to the World Cup for the very first time.

Almunia has the option to change citizenship and opt to play for England because he has never played for Spain.

i still do not understand why james gets to play in goal. he IS good (better than ever b4) but will he be any good in two to three years time?
As for owen not playing, good for england, better for owen.
At least now he'd know he is no longer an untouchable and hopefully he'd work that little bit harder. I still think there is a good player hidden somewhere in that 5 foot 6 frame of his...
*
well it's just one game laugh.gif
if it carries on to 4 games, then you can argue with capello's decision.

robinson has not been getting games lately, kirkland and carson, well, no comment.

james is the only england goalkeeper that has been playing and performing well. (and green, but wasn't he injured?)
as for robinson, blame juande ramos.

and as for goalie age, it does not matter (unless you're looking at Seaman, laugh.gif)
their peak age is around 30++ (check VDS out!) and they perform well during that age.
