speaking from experience, this is very true.
even if they allow you to claim, it wont be for everything.
eg they let u claim hospital, but not for everything ya. only some categories from the bill u can claim. the rest keluar sendiri.
and also a lot of sickness they say can claim, in the end, only this and that can claim, the rest foot it yourself.
insurance is almost like a pyramid scheme. those on top kaya, those below all running around getting sales.
life insurance in almost a pyramid scheme. that's why they keep recruiting agent below them.
but the insurance claim part, you need to know what is payable and what's not. you need to understand this part.
insurance only pay for your medical necessary expenses. other services or non-medical expenses, insurance won't pay for it.
example admission kit/pack, TV, extra milo or rice, extra toilet paper, toothbrush etc. all this is pay yourself.
and some hospital bill when you look at it, it is so funny. They charge you for some unrelated expenses. that is where the insurance wont pay also.
example you had a broken leg and admitted to hospital. then the bill charge you psychologist visitation, cardiologist visitation.
these "unrelated to your sickness" doctor just come say hello. check check your heart beat then charged you RM200 for that visit.
insurance won't pay for this. then they also just put endoscopy charges inside also for your broken leg. so unrelated.
that's why when we get hospital bill, go thru it. when something is not right, tell them. they will be happy to remove the charges.
experience from my grandpa and grandma case. I ask them list down everything and explain it. end up having deduct many unrelated expenses.
from RM60k to RM40k. you just imagine
