The PSVR2 is now officially released.

The reviews are very positive. The PSVR2 is a truly next gen VR headset for console with great graphics and advance features.

Here is the official trailer
PSVR2

With games like Horizon Call of the Mountains, GT7, and Kayak VR that really showcase what the PSVR2 is capable off, the future is really bright for Sony VR.

Have anyone here bought the PSVR2 already? Please share your thoughts here

Me still waiting for my sponsorship at SportsToto / Magnum lolz.

But overall the PSVR2 is impressive, I saw a video where they played RE8 VR and it totally blew my mind.

There is a Cinematic mode where you can use it to watch 2D contents eg Netflix and YouTube. You can even use cinematic mode to play non VR games so that's pretty cool. Imagine playing GOW Ragnarok on a 100" tv. The downside is that the cinematic mode is only 1080p

It's mostly a personal preference thing. I already have a 130" projected screen anyways, so it doesn't make a difference to me whether I use the PSVR2 as a screen for 2D content or not.

I also appreciate audio more than visuals, so I think that if you have a good audio setup with a good room, it certainly trounces headphones anyway.

Buy the PSVR2 if you want to use it for VR games, don't buy it as a replacement for a dedicated TV is my point.

GT7 VR is a true system seller.

Sony should advertise it more.

It's nearly a night and day difference between PSVR1 and PSVR2.

Biggest differences are:

- PSVR2 is sooo much brighter, I hated the gloomy and smeary PSVR1. HDR peak brightness is good, but not great but I think it's done to keep from burning your eyeballs out.

- The screen-door effect is still noticeable in high frequency text like in menus or in-game text items but otherwise it's mostly non-noticeable in motion.

- The Sense controllers are real controllers, finally. Not a glowed up dildo like those jokes PS Moves. There are however a growing number of reports that they don't work properly though, mine is ok.

- Audio quality is... o-kay. I think they missed out on having a dedicated headphone amp on the headset which should have been easy to implement since it is wired.

Damn man my motion sickness is really bad by just playing Kayak Mirage. Feels like puking and my head seems like its moving even though ive taken off the VR. My 1st VR experience btw. Need to train my mind to adapt or maybe getting too old for this. Unbelievable VR world btw. Very impressed when I'm in the kayak at the pool. Lol

Protip for those experiencing or easy to get motion sickness in VR

get a table fan blowing at your face while playing, the blowing air will give your brain a sense of actual direction in the real world, reducing the chance of getting motion sickness

New to VR should start with stationary game that don't move around, fast traveling motion game is big no no e.g. driving/racing.

Get those rhythm game or shooting game where u just stood at same spot.

Just bought mine with ps5, will test out later maybe tomorrow.

The reviews on the internet overall so far are positive which made FOMO into buying it.

BTW this is my 1st VR, i quit gaming almost a decade ago just before Occulus Rift was made public.

Good charging stand for the VR2 from China. The magnetic charging adapters are strong, easily guides the controller into places and this has the indication of charging status. I don't have the official charging station however judging from the YT videos of the drawbacks of it plus the expensive price, this is value for money.

This plus Dobe lens protector including shipping costs RM100.

I cant even pass the pool stage, kept losing to the AI.

I had some slight motion sickness playing Horizon while climbing the rocks, stopped immediately and let my kid played.

So far the experience is good, graphics feel 3d'ish , although theres a lot of blur, i think havent set it up right. Will go through some youtube reviews or wear glasses.

I like setting up my play area, i think im more of an AR person then a VR.

This is the problem with PSVR2, it is not friendly to those who are new to VR
You have to move the headset around to find the sweet spot where the picture are not blurred
And when you found it, even when tightened if you move around it tends to slip so you have to keep adjusting the headset to find that sweet spot again

ah my bad being not clear in the instruction tongue.gif

should be table/standing fan blowing at your face to get a sense of real world direction

ceiling fan won't work because its top down with no real sense of direction tongue.gif

Nice review by Linus, according to him PSVR2 as of now -> all PC VR.

His friend felt nauseated by just even looking at the tv screen while Linus was playing Horizon.

I let my wife tried it out yesterday, same issue, motion sickness while playing Horizon.

I have no issues with Kayak however.

Yet to open my GT7 and tried it.

Just bought the PSVR2 last week as well after managed to find the bundle at RM100 off. Been trying to play some RE8 but somehow still get motion sickness while doing the VR Tutorial, but must said, the game is good in VR especially with all the guns part. If you guys have RE8 laying around, should give it a try.

I can’t handle psvr2 as well. Very nauseous.
I will probably need around 8k screen per eye at >240hz with <3ms latency lol. If it’s not that spec, I won’t even bother. Don’t mind waiting years for that.

Oh no this does not look good, most of us are getting motion sickness from the VR.

I will try out the VR with my glasses on and see if this can rectify the issue.

If not the ginger solution.

3rd time played for 1 hour plus, so much better. I can even race here and there to play hide and seek with the tall lady in re village.

Make sure don't play when a have a full stomach, hahah.

Just continue play, it gets really better.

Need to position it properly and tightly on your head. There will always be a slight blur on the PSVR2 and other VRs in the same price range. I think it has something to do with the resolution. Not sure about the high end ones which come with 8K/12K res.

already fix it really tight but the headset keep sliding down and make it blur again. my solution is wear snowcap or something to prevent the headset from moving sweat.gif

Got my PSVR2 yesterday. Tried a few demo games like horizon, drums games, RE Village. Horizon looks good but gives motion sickness and do is RE Village.

But GT7... WOW. I'm an really blown away by how amazing GT7 is on VR. No words can describe how amazing GT7 is on VR. It's not as sharp and details as in 4k tv but the immersive feeling of being there on the race track is surreal. It's a totally different game compared to the flat screen GT7. Event if you don't fancy racing games you owe it to yourself to try GT7. I used to turn on racing lines and braking guide when playing on 4k tv as it's hard to judge the approaching turns but on VR the sense of depth and distant totally change that. Now I turn of all and I can easily find the distance to brake. The really impressive thing about VR is how it makes the uphill and downhill look so real. In flat tv, you basically can't see or feel the elevation of the track, but in VR, those slopes just totally transform the games.

The VR showroom is game changer too. Seeing those exotics cars in real life size is breathtaking.

For those who bought the first gen PS VR - did the faux-leather layer on your set peel off after a few months?

Are they using the same material for the new VR set?

Great review... now I have an excuse to buy one too tongue.gif

Btw you use steering wheel or just controller?
*
I'm using the dualsense controller but I use motion control instead of the analog sticks.. the motion controller is very natural like the wheels where I rotate the dualsense clockwise and anti clockwise to turn the wheels in game and you can see the virtual hands holding the steering doing there same. After using the motion control, I be won't go back to use the analog sticks anymore. It's just better

PSVR2 don't use faux leather. It's a soft rubber type which is very comfortable

Every time I play GT7 I still get blown away by how immersive and impressive the whole driving experience is. When I go back racing using flat tv, it seems so hard to drive. VR somehow makes driving all the cars a lot easier.

I use to be on last position when racing online but the last few races I tried with VR, I end up on 2nd and 1st. Not sure if it's coincidence or VR makes me a better driver

because you will naturally look and aim for the apex which will make your driving line optimal and smoother

haven't tried PSVR2 but that's my experience from playing Assetto Corsa on PCVR and I think it translates here too

Any good solutions to store the headset and sense controllers when not in use? As it stands they take up so much space.

Looking for something like this but locally: https://www.amazon.com/SHOWCASE-Premium-cha...n/dp/B0BSJG83NT

Another one is something that doesn’t charge the controllers per se but it holds all the things mounted above the PS5 itself. https://www.amazon.com/MOJOXR-Controllers-M...5-1722946?psc=1

"Normal" for psvr2. You'll get a replacement with the same problem. Worse, with dead/stuck pixels.

I personally don't care much as I know after a few years this psvr2 will be obsolete and I will pack it in a box and put under my bed and forget about it's existence.

You won't get a sharp text or picture like your tv with the psvr2. It's a bit blurry especially at the edges due to the type of lenses the psvr2 uses.

Just got myself a PSVR2 after much deliberation. This is my first VR, and probably my 2nd time experiencing it. First time trying out VR was when it was all polygonal graphics way back then.

GT7 & PSVR2 is just that good. Feels surreal but right at home as well. I like how the mirrors are all working, detailed interiors and getting to see where you're turning in to. Its just... WOW. I wish I had a steering wheel.

And checking out the cars you own in the garage. I think I've spent too much time in that mode.

I do get motion sickness though, so I'm still training myself slowly.

I don't get motion sickness playing Horizon trial though.

Oh, I gotta try motion control, thanks for the heads up!

Only issue for me now is we don't get all the games in Malaysia store. I guess I need to create a US account to get those games.

I will probably need around 8k screen per eye at >240hz with <3ms latency lol. If it’s not that spec, I won’t even bother. Don’t mind waiting years for that.

the higher resolution contributes to make you nauseous

Just installed Red Matter 2 & Pistol Whip

Red Matter 2 is a beautiful game. Everything just looks sharp. Recommended for immersion. Its only the third game I tried.

Pistol Whip is a great pistol game that works up your sweat. I like it. Reminds me of Time Crisis on steroids.

Beat Saber is now out for PS5 and PSVR2! RM129 with about 40+ songs for free. I bought it and a few music pack DLCs as the packs and the game itself never go on sale. Linkin Park and Lady Gaga are my favorite so far and a couple of Queen songs were amazing too.

I don't think I will get Beat Saber. Looking at YouTube video, I find that beat saber is more like swinging the arms wildly. I have Sythn Rider and I really like the flow of the movement where I can really dance with the action. Just personal preference.

I am waiting for pistol whips to go on sale though.

I have Synth Riders too and love it as well, but because I got an EU disc I can’t buy the DLC songs, and buying the different region credits seem like a pain in the ass. I read on their subreddit where the dev team said they’re looking into making it available in Asia.

Pistol Whip was also not available in Asia last I checked… wonder if they have plans to bring it to R3 too?

So far, the sharpest in visuals for me would be Red Matter. Sometimes, I get moments where I forget thats not my hands on screen.

Anyone played Resident Evil Village? Its on sale so I was wondering if its any good in the VR department?

Tell me about it, I don’t see much buzz about it over the PS5 communities.

On my end, I just got a cheap 2nd hand Logitech G29 and playing GT7 on PSVR2. It is such an awesome gaming experience. Now I just have to look for a portable rig to place the wheel properly.

Synth Riders is on sale. I want to try Synapse, just putting it on my wishlist first.

What have you been playing?

1st you need to get the TnGo visa card. Simply apply for it for RM10 on TnGo eWallet. The physical card will be posted to you later but the virtual card are ready to use on the spot.

2nd, create new PSN ID under Turkiye. Just put province and city to Istanbul with 34000 as the postcode. Link ur virtual visa card to the acc and done. Top-up ur wallet and u are good to go.

But remember that please don't share ur virtual card detail with other acc. Indonesia has been blocked for all their payment method since got people over doing middle men business by helping other user buying and activating ps+ by using the same card on multiple acc. And the results, payment got blocked while those acc got banned I think. Same as what happen here during PS3 years. Got seller doing service by login into others PSN ID to buy games etc and in the end the card blocked with all the acc.

From what Ninja told me Firewall looks like upgraded version of PSVR. Same map and all others. Meanwhile Sierra Squad got 50 single or 2 player co-op misson, 13 story mission and 50 wave of 4 players Horde mode.

Yeah Turkey and TNG Visa has been stopped. You need a Turkey virtual card to purchase if you still want to.

Official PC support incoming, you can expect the PSVR2 sales to pickup again
sos: https://www.tweaktown.com/news/97073/playst...port/index.html

but then, seems Sony is ditching PS5 VR by closing shops here and there. Again, nothing new

Hello. My son recently tried out his cousin’s PSVR, liked it and have asked to buy one. We have a PS5 so was thinking of buying a used PSVR2 at CeX. I see they’re selling about 1.7k and apparently they have 5 years warranty. Is it worth to buy a used one or just buy brand new?

due to the recent price dropped by sony, it's even cheaper than used 1.... or just probably slight lower. If you can get @ RM1.7, it's better to buy new.

Thanks for the reply. How much is the price drop? I checked on Sony online store and it’s showing 2.8k and out of stock.

the last 11.11 promo day was about RM1.7 or RM1.8 only. of course some people would go FOMO... laugh.gif

2nd hand not many people will buy except it's really cheap... else don't bother la... some couldn't sell it too. you can check FB market or carousell.

honest opinion as a father? don't buy it for your son nor for yourself

it's just a temporary fad because it's something new and exciting, once the fad is over it will be sitting at a corner collecting dust due to lack of games from Sony, and Sony is already abandoning it.

if really wanna try out VR? go grab a meta quest 3 instead
