my best friend asked me:

" is driving to cyberjaya a good idea?

i live in cheras but work in cyberjaya....of course the petrol and toll will cost me pretty a lot...

some suggested me to rent a house there....but i think i better buy a condo there....
at least i'm investing on my own property and not other people's property (rental)

but for now i still have not enough mone to buy a condo...maybe five years later....

home in cheras is parents' house, so my accomodation now is free.....the concern now is only the petrol and toll....

what's the best way to deal with this?? "

guys, what do u think?? hmm.gif

Long term wise, it would be better off if you buy a property nearby your work place. It will cut your petrol expenses and yet you have your own property. One question tho.. would you still plan to work there for years to come? the house you buy will be your liability meaning it will take big portion from your monthly salary. Think twice before you initiate your move.

Okthx.

1. Hav u compared how much petrol + toll spent vs rental vs installment to buy a condo?
2. Buying a condo for own stay is not an investment. It is only considered an investment when ur intention to buy it is for investment , not own stay.
3. U r right , no money to buy condo, then rent.
4. No best way, suits u urself , more travelling or stay in cyberjaya ,which u still travel home once 1 while. work out a sheet on Pros vs Cons.

hmm try to calculate the cost lor
how much is the rent 1 month,
then calculate the cost u pay the tol and petrol, and dont forget car maintanance also,
if u rent the house the car maintanance wont be that high cos ur not travelling that much

if all end up almost the same then, i suggest rent the house better, cos its near to ur work place and no need to waste the time jam in peek hour

So buying your own house is out of question.

So take some calculation on the cost of both. It is not only petrol and toll, time, stresses in travel are also important to look for.
But remember, when you live with your parent, a lot of expenses, some may take for granted without notice, like electricity bill, house maintenance cost, it might be significant amount each month! so better take the consideration properly.

Now only 2 choice, continue live with your parents and travel, try to save enough for the future or may can rent a room rather than a house/condo.

imo its better to buy a house in a good area and the house have resale value...as house dont come cheap..so there is allot to think about ..also like wat soviet say..will u still be in that job for time to come ?? that is something to take in to consideration...but i dont think u should buy a house so that u can go to work more ez...petrol is something u can cope with..no money=dont drive(theree is always bus,car pool etc)..
but if no money pay for house=debt collector come find u (gg.com) dont forget the interest rates ^.^

Do consider the fact of distance driving from cheras to your working place in the long run as well. Cause I am currently doing sales and i drive a lot. Beginning to get sick and tired of it after some years.
By the way, the cost of petrol might be increasing in the near future..... who knows....

Actually even if you leave your job in few years time, you can still rent out your apartment. Its always an investment even at first its for own use.

The only drawback is your next new place you wont be able to buy another property, that is if you r simple lay man.

Heard CJ has limited place to stay... thats why majority stay Puchong. Limited supply --> demand high = high rent rate.

Buying a house in Cyberjaya will be good. Although its pretty close to Putrajaya (like S.Alam) which is a bad sample city imo, the rest of the development is gradually moving down south. By then, I feel Cyberjaya houses will skyrocket being a matured residence with ample amenities and jobs. A roof above your head is best even if you are going to look poor. Properties cannot be seen by others but its a safer step.

petrol and toll will SURE rise in the future.
don't forget the maintenance fee for car
rent a room there better rather than rent house.

actually i believe most ppl will choose to stay in puchong and seri kembangan because it is the enviroment is better. you need to remember there is no supermarket, shopping center, cinema, car workshop in cyberjaya. Also the selection of food is very limited if compare with seri kembangan and puchong. and the landed proprety is so damn expensive while the price of condo can get a link house in puchong or seri kembangan.

Wow, I checked Google Earth and there is a very huge green lung in Puchong. I just pray and hope it won't gets developed though it didn't look promising on the northern section.

Its the Ayer Hitam forest reserve, is it? The fact that its a forest reserve pleases me but its a lowland forest....which doesn't bodes too well for a corrupted council like MPSJ and the most corrupted of all...our Khir Toyo. Surely, we don't need further proof that someone on the top is dirtier for people like Zakaria to be unscathed. He may not be in MPK now but he will rejuvenated somewhere sometime like the Muhammad Taib. Stronger opposition presence Selangor both state and Parlimen will help alot. Otherwise, some money exchange hands and project goes approved unnoticed until its too late.
