Basically, fridge is simple and same electrically and electronically. Part probably made in China for cheap labor. Well, probably not that cheap anymore but cheap to produce because the material are locally available smile.gif

How long you want to keep your fridge. Say you buy 2k fridge and lasted for 10 years. It is only RM200 per year. Probably new fridge have more functionality or more efficient after 10 years and you probably want to try something new biggrin.gif

My old Sharp fridge will need replacing soon.

Was looking for a simple 2 door fridge...went to a few physical shops. Looked at Sharp and Panasonic, then saw Hisense and Haier fridges on sale. Are those 2 China brands worth buying?

NO. Stay away from those cheaper brands. LG is the best or if can afford more than go for Bosch. Stay away from Panasonic fridges in Malaysia. This is because Panasonic Malaysia has a bad service department manager. Just cannot accept that my new Panasonic fridge is vibrating and rattling loudly. He switch off the fridge from the plug. This is a dirty tactic by untrustworthy service technicians and managers. If they switch off the fridge and switch back On after few minutes, the fridge components like inverter and other components will take time to start working again like normal. Therefore, the technician/manager will say that there is no problem. All ok. My MF freaking @ss it’s ok. It’s not. My Panasonic fridge with inverter and evonavi technology is getting worse. Thank goodness my regular over 20 years electrical shop ESH at SS2, PJ is very good and saved me. Ms Mary from ESH called and spoke to Panasonic Sales Manager and solved it. She told me I can come to ESH and select a different better fridge. They will exchange for me because I am their very regular long time customer. Great Job ESH , SS2 PJ.

Yes avoid at all cost, their service also sucks!
i basically throw away my 3 months old samseng fridge.

they tell me there's no issue even though:
1. Ice also melted in the freezer
2. those drinks label also get wet in the fridge.

They got the guts to ask me did i use the fridge too much? When Monday - Friday 7am to 8-9pm no one at home (both of us working).

I hv had no issue with my Samsung 2 door fridge even though it broke down after 8 yrs but repaired, replaced new compressor under warranty, only charge small workmanship fee.
Lately added a Midea fridge (also 2 door unit) and working well until now..
Hisense and other global China brands are also ok.

Actually any fridge nowdays good liao, people nowdays use the most 6 to 7 years then change to new one, unlike people old days buy hoping for to pass it to their grandson, hahaha πŸ˜…πŸπŸ€žπŸ‘
