So Bill Gates invested millions into unsustainable farmland?
Insect farming won't lead to a new set of problems?
lets look at it from a purely scientific pov and ignore concepts of fairness, social justice etc.
because volume scales up much faster than area, smaller organism require less energy input per unit mass to grow. that's why chickens require up to 5 times less feed than beef per kg meat, and the article says insects half of chicken. ergo, bill gates farmland could potentially feed much more protein to the whole world rather than just wagyu beef for a handful of elite uhmericans and WEF ppl. and every acre farmland saved means one less acre of tropical rainforest and other carbon sinks that would otherwise need to be converted to farmland to feed 10 billion ppl who are demanding more protein in their diet.
In before, CO2 global warming is a joo hoax.
side note, I was hoping and still put out hope that
algae to protein will be the future, since microorganism should have the most efficient feed to conversion ratio. hope it doesnt end up like cell base lab grown red meat.
EDIT: another thing about livestock and netherlands closing farmland bit, animal poop and manure generate tonnes of nitrogen waste. that is highly polluting to their enviroment and thats one of the reason netherlands want to tighten up regulations on industrial livestock farms. AFAIK, poop from insect farming generate much less nitrogen waste.
edit edit: I also dont agree that farmland should be owned by an elite few, but consolidation of farmland is proven to be more efficient in terms of yield. ideally stewardship of farmland should be in the hands of a collective, like a gomen enterprise
