About the KGM(1) under the Unit of Quantity. Does it mean if the total item of the item not more than 1kg mean no 20% import tax right?
Btw, what KGM stand for?

Usually yes, as long as you dont bring in exceed more than 1KG, means you're not into business trading.

QUOTE(bbjslee @ Dec 13 2007, 03:37 AM) Please do not confuse AHTN duties order 2004 with Custom Duties order 1996. Both have slightly different codes and different duty rates. AHTN is for goods imported from ASEAN countries and must accompied with certificate of origin....then u enjoy preferential rate ....QUOTE(morgan @ Oct 25 2007, 11:44 PM) Usually yes, as long as you dont bring in exceed more than 1KG, means you're not into business trading. KGM = KiloGRAM 20% import duty is levied on the goods u imported no mater how many kgm.....the quantity is meant for customs declaration.....when u declare ur goods, you cant't declare in unit/tonne/pieces. must be in kg. what else u all want to know.....this is my rice bowl...have been doing it for years oledi..... |

I searched communication, phones, cellular and mobile. None in the custom duties order 1996 shows anything relevant. The nearest I got is Telephone sets. But I was searching for mobile phones. The website did not show any though. Can you find any ? Anyways there stated 1 KGM. What happen if I bring more than 5 KGM ? Kena tax ? |
