New iPhone user, have been playing around with video recordings, the files are over like say 8GB to 10GB

Been trying to find ways to transfer the files out, but always stuck half way. (Connecting to Windows/ Via Pendrive and even trying to upload via google drive.

any advice?

If pen drive already stuck, what made you think the WiFi will succeed? Pen drive would be faster than WiFi.

I guess the limit is on Apple phone. There is a limit to how big can transfer in one go. Try Google.

Use the cable download to computer before uploading to anywhere else.

This is due to iphone's port speed is still on usb2.0, the transfer rate will be way slower.
If compared to wifi (wifi 6), theoretically wifi speed should be way faster.

Another alternative will be via iCloud assuming that your file size did not exceed the free tier of 5GB, sync over to iCloud and on your desktop/laptop, download from iCloud.

Just notice OP mentioned file is around 10GB, another alternative probably can consider google drive (15GB free tier)

I've been experimenting a lot of ways to transfer huge vid files out from iphone 14 pro max since I will be travelling soon and 100% sure that my storage won't be sufficient. So I have been finding all kinds of ways.

1. Buying a lightning to USB adapter to connect pendrive or SSD portable drive. I bought a very good quality mcdodo branded adapter, for pendrive it does not need any external power to support it. As for SSD, it's a bit tricky. I tried M.2 SSD that's using USB C, that needs external power which is also supported by the adapter. So it will be a bit troublesome when trying to transfer while outside. Another way is using SATA 2.5" SSD portable. That way, no external power is needed and direct transfer from photos to files app without issue.

I would not and never recommend USB pendrive to transfer, they are way way slower. Had this kingston traveller exodia M, comparing with SSD, ssd would take maybe 10 secs, but the pendrive would take a good 4 min. Skip it and go with SSD.

I had transfer a 9.7GB video file to SSD via the adapter, it took 4 min 10 secs.

VS

Airdrop to Mac/iPad it took 4 min. I would say transferring to SSD is considered good.

Hope this helps.

Forgot to mention, for portable HDD(spinning disk), it needs external power source to support.
