i dunno how to say this but i lived in indonesia for a year and there is no harmony amongst the chinese and the other races there.

there is still so much hate, the same hate that caused the 1998 riots.

they feel the chinese are controlling everything, because most if not all businesses and real estate in the capital is chinese owned.

a few of my chinese indonesian friends also express extreme disdain against the non chinese population

Obviously you have no idea that Indonesia have reverse all that you have mentioned.
They now have lots of international schools including Christian Missionary ones.
Like Malaysia they also sent thousands of teachers to China to learn how to teach Mandarin in Indonesia once they graduated.
It is no longer compulsory to use Indonesia name with lifting of the ban in 2000 under President Abdurrahman Wahid.
