i dunno how to say this but i lived in indonesia for a year and there is no harmony amongst the chinese and the other races there.
there is still so much hate, the same hate that caused the 1998 riots. they feel the chinese are controlling everything, because most if not all businesses and real estate in the capital is chinese owned. a few of my chinese indonesian friends also express extreme disdain against the non chinese population i think chinese there are called tonghua or something similar as a slur we should look to singapore better i think |

QUOTE(Ivan113 @ Feb 7 2023, 08:02 AM) I think he doesn't realise that whatever the Indonesians are doing now for "racial harmony and unity" is all to fix years of Javanese supremacy that has ruined the country's progress and trying hard to prevent another flight of wealth from rich minorities like what happened after 98 |

QUOTE(novblaze @ Feb 7 2023, 08:02 AM) cancel vaniculer school Obviously you have no idea that Indonesia have reverse all that you have mentioned.cancel teaching of mandrin and Tamil compulsory tukar nama to local like names They now have lots of international schools including Christian Missionary ones. Like Malaysia they also sent thousands of teachers to China to learn how to teach Mandarin in Indonesia once they graduated. It is no longer compulsory to use Indonesia name with lifting of the ban in 2000 under President Abdurrahman Wahid. |
