well, one of the main reason you might feel that chinese are rich is because they have small family. Mainly 1 kid or 2 kids.
So the parent could channel more resources or money for their children education.
As we know better educated , better opportunity, and better pay.
and with the small family, when the parents pass away, the inheritance will be pass on their only son or daughters.
