Yes totally agree. For my case, I asked several times via Annual Review and 1 to 1 discussion for adjustment with valid reasons.

No result and all LIES. Left the company shortly after, problem solved

I disagree and I was a given a raise at my previous company after my request with valid points during 1 on 1.

It all depends on whether your boss is a piece of shit or not. If they are selfish or saving the quota for kaki jilat, you are screwed. However there are good bosses as well.

I'm a top performer but my jilat skills not so pro.
