Hi peeps, I want to get some advice and suggestion which one is better under certain circumstances.

I am a WFH guy and recently there are poles set up in my area, and seeing unifi poster and maxis poster which is available soon enough in this area for applying their packages.
Currently, I am using Maxis Home 4G Wifi, and it is not ideal, having random disconnection uncommonly and speed is quite slow as well but usable for working, so definitely switching to fibre once they're available.

The question I will be having is, which one is better?

I often host servers to play games with friends, and port forward seems to be a very troublesome issue for maxis, unifi seems to be the best choice for me so far.
But when it comes to the stability of the network, I have no idea about those two, only hear news about maxis often having high traffic sometimes causing the unstable network going on, not sure about unifi.

I am planning to grab a 300mbps package.

Any thoughts?

maxis seems to charge extra RM10 for public ip every month while unifi for 300mbps u can get public ip for stipulated price afaik

but take note somehow unifi network got some issue just recently very obvious one is imgur image loading very slow
while after 8pm connection to US might get bad from my personal experience
for maxis I dun have experience, personally using unifi cuz the fixing los or fibre issue is way faster on unifi end

I jumped from Unifi to Maxis after 1 year due to bad international routing, so far zero issue.
Using RM129 300mbps with public IP, they didn't charge me extra for it.

Gaming wise, I don't game much as before so cant really give a proper review...
But unlike Unifi, when I play games during late evening, the ping is stable with no package lost

Unifi's problem, you can take a look here

When people complaint bad network from fibre ISP, it is usually because they are using the s*it stock router
Be sure you upgrade that ASAP

Thanks for the reply and thoughts!

The reason why I am scared of Maxis is most likely due to the random disconnection I am having with the 4G LTE, I assume that fibre is fine and won't have any issue with lagging or random spikes?

I don't mind paying RM10 for the public ip if the package price is reasonable.

I am also having random lags/unstable connection during 8pm~12pm.

EDIT: After some browsing and research, seems like maxis is more stable than unifi. I'll probably look for the maxis agent in my area and cancel the registration for unifi.

When you're running server or CCTV, some games might also requires it
