the case goes like this.. i live in a condo.. car parked properly in my condo parking lot.. one day, an asshole crashed into my car, then escaped without leaving any messages or notes, hence damaging my car front, consider as hit & run..

report to mgmt office, mgmt office ask us to go make police report, at the same time mgmt office will help check CCTV to see who's the culprit..

soon after, mgmt office called saying CCTV not functioning, unable to trace who the culprit is.. so mgmt office cant help much on this, feels like they are washing hands off.. wtf???

so questions:

1. wat to do next? police report is done, wat can we do bout it?
2. can claim insurance for such accident? till now i dont dare to move my car yet, since consider it as crime scene..
3. mgmt office how? can take legal action against mgmt office? although we know PARK AT OUR OWN RISK
4. culprit hit & run, meaning to say unable to catch that asshole anymore?

parking nicely also buta-buta can kenak langgar, end up troublesome matters like now bangwall.gif

worst comes to worst, i may have to fork out my hard earned money just to repair the damages, thanks to that asshole sad.gif

Simple and less hassle route - claim your own insurance, NCD loss

If u have time and money, hire lawyer to send demand letter, sue management office, suruh management office pay since they didn’t properly maintain the facilities aka cctv in condo, assume u also no outstanding management fee. Usually they have public liability insurance.

If miraculously the CCTV working, polis also can’t do shit, since the accident happen in private property, u can use the polis report to get the fella detail, send legal letter ask for compensation and damage. Whether reply or not, lain cerita. Same time, can sue management office for failure in their duty.

This is unofficial legal reply

hi TS,

1. Private property/road, outta police's jurisdiction
2. claim own insurance
3. mgt office escapes, almost everytime.
4. cant do a thing, unless culprit parks there often (u can revenge)

from my experience:
1. (Parts) theft case
2. car kena scratched, neighbor car opened door too far/hard, many times

fark mai life. dont stay at terrible place, not 4 human.

separately, you as resident need to voice out to management committee for having proper cctv installed and periodically check and review.

good luck.

private property, is not as clear cut as an accident on a federal road. Even  your own insurance might not pay you until the police case is settled.

My car was once hit while changing speaker at an accessory shop. Even with the police report, both mine and the other party insurance refused to pay as it was deemed to have happened on a private property.

another example of similar incident.

private road police cannot do anything. also no cctv. if damage bad just claim insurance and lose NCD. if minor damage just repair yourself.
