Iphone value drop too much. If you care about resale value then you only need 1 Iphone Pro Max for the back design.
4 years on 3 camera design (11 to 14 Pro Max) Almost all are price around 6k on start. First year value drop to 4.5k Second year value drop to 3k Third year value drop to 2k |

I just realised in the thread no one asking TS what phone is currently using instead just bashing him on buying via installment ..
Even for me I can outright buy cash, I will go for 6 mths max 0% interest free .. just annoyed sometime they force you to take up protection plan |

If you can manage your money well, then installment is definitely is the better choice compared with lumpsum.
There is a financial term for this case. It is called "opportunity cost". |

Nothing wrong buying phone by paying installment. As long you can afford to repay. Even for those who can afford to pay full cash. No law or rules against it. Apa susah susah ? Might as well buy iPhone 12 or 13 secondhand one will do. Cheap and good. You are buying its features as a phone not using it to show off. Also hahaha, I do not show off with a phone. I show with land This post has been edited by edifgrto: Jan 12 2023, 12:53 PM |

QUOTE(blmse92 @ Jan 12 2023, 12:34 PM) Cc limit can be 4.2K which means you dont use the CC to spend for anything else besides the phone instalment. Then your cc limit will slowly increase back once you settle your monthly phone’s instalment blmse92 liked this post

QUOTE(nottherealme @ Jan 12 2023, 10:56 AM) I using standard Chartered cc. 36 months intallment 0% interest. Company allow phone bill claim every month. Just nice 36 months monthly repayment company cover 100% of the cost. This is the reason why phone prices have ballooned so much and Telco has no problem selling overpriced plans with overpriced phones. |

Eg your company allow you to claim RM120 telco plan then you can choose to add on phone and pay the phone as add ons. |

Since the 14 series is not much better than 13, you can opt for the 13 series via compasia. Now got CNY offer. The excellent condition phones are virtually like new.

Only if the 1st owner bought and sign contract from a TELCO Then the telco can block the iphone if he never pays. If he buys the phone on a 36 mth installment using cc from Machines or Switch and he defaults on his payment, the bank can never block the phone. Anyway before u buy 2nd hand iphones, please go and check the imei first whether its telco phone or not. Shopee has plenty of ppl selling the service. QUOTE(ymc2303 @ Jan 12 2023, 12:26 PM) telco : by end of contract, phone is not yours.. pay more than you should for phone in total Lol, what garbage is this? If u have settled ur contract with telco, then the phone is totally yours already. Of course u have paid more because you are paying for the data and calls as well over a 24 mths period. outright : no contract, phone is 100% yours. pay what is msrp or discount price.. The reason ppl sign up contract with telco is so they can buy the phone at a discounted price. U sign 2 years contract u get to buy the phone at 4k instead of 6k(just an example) and also many ppl are able to claim telco bill from their company. So its very worth to sign up plan with telco . Who cares when your company is paying the bill. |

The "possible" interest rate from the credit card amount owed is the whole idea of offering such plans. |

QUOTE(TiramisuCoffee @ Jan 12 2023, 04:20 PM) Different people different financial management. A lot of reasons why one don't take 0% installment. 1. They think got hidden agenda. 2. They have the mindset that "installment means can't afford". 3. They prefer one-off payment so no need to worry about monthly installments later. 4. They lack of self-discipline - may use the money to spend on other stuff instead of paying monthly installments. 5. They don't want the installment amount to fill up their credit limit. 6. They may want to apply loan in the near future so they want a better DSR. and so on. TiramisuCoffee liked this post

Nowadays even Lazada and shopee also don't offer 0% installment.
Wonder why? Probably pushing their own paylater service? |

QUOTE(poweredbydiscuz @ Jan 12 2023, 04:40 PM) Different people different financial management. A lot of reasons why one don't take 0% installment. So buy car and house must be 100% cash also?1. 6. They may want to apply loan in the near future so they want a better DSR. and so on. |

QUOTE(poweredbydiscuz @ Jan 12 2023, 06:19 PM) I don't have that mindset. But apparently a lot of /ktards think that it's OK to take 3% installment to buy car but it's not OK to take 0% installment to buy phone. Maybe they can answer you. Lol0% tak nak ambil especially instalment comes with free 1 year warranty and free Uniq casing but to each their own same mindset like people who prefer use cash vs credit card |

If you are 100% confident you can pay the instalment on time, 0% easy payment is smarter than paying in full by cash.
