QUOTE(mADmAN @ Feb 8 2025, 12:27 PM) hi guys... does anyone have lazada/shopee link to a decent data cable for my S23FE? i bought THIS BASEUS CABLE and it doesnt have data though it claims it does (probably for huawei phones only?). plugging this cable into both my PC and my car's infotainment n nothing happens except for some slow charging. not even a prompt comes out. bought 2 cables. both the same. I need: USB-A to USB-C Has data transfer capabilities. fast charging support would be nice. need to use this for my wired android auto as well as data transfer to PC. ive searched shopee but dont know which is good and not sure which one is confirmed has data transfer. also when searching most i get is USB C-C and not USB A-C Not sure I understand your problem. If you are talking about video transfer, you may want to get one with USB 3.1 spec.

QUOTE(wong_86 @ Feb 13 2025, 09:18 AM) S23u already 2 years, battery still good, the leather case still good. anyone know which brand got sell light casing ? not more than 20g I use to buy branded cases for all my previous phone like Spigen etc. But try the cheap no-names for the S23 and they seem OK. https://shopee.com.my/TPU-Case-for-Samsung-...9152.6855329678

QUOTE(jonthebaptist @ Feb 15 2025, 03:27 AM) Yes I do notice a bit yellowing on mine but still feels solid. The other no-name clear ones I am using for a year is also still OK. So I think they are all more or less the same.

QUOTE(PJng @ Apr 10 2025, 02:58 PM) i keep heard ppl around me, even forum here, online, keep asking when phone new update arrive, why so slow then on windows pc, keep asking how to disable update, why windows keep asking restart to complete update, even my friend say to me don care windows update, online found many way to disable until now so many year i don understand, but your case pc on company is true, sometime update broken some functionally, most broken thing is printer cannot print I hated Android updates. Nowadays, many banking sites using bio-metric. And after update, have to re-enter the passwords. Sometime forgotten and sometime found out at the most inconvenient time the need to do so. Yet I still have to do updates because of possible security patching requirement.

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Apr 11 2025, 12:56 AM) Yeah, I hate most when being awaken from my slumber morning with networking or printer issue. Phone updates are generally disappointing if anything. Gone are the days where they would introduce new features like wifi hotspot which could really make your day. Nowadays though, smartphone has reach the peak somewhat and is losing direction over where it should head next. Thats why all we see now is camera comparison which is laughable. Its kinda back to those Nokia days. I would have thought by now that we should see some stronger integration in Android regarding how file sharing should work and be standardized instead of using the slow beam (fancy name for bluetooth). Allow users to share folders in networking with PC. Also sharing content on a wireless display and so on. Huawei new Harmony build new from the ground up. May be they will fix those issues. Once it has the apps I needed, may give it a try.

QUOTE(zhou.xingxing @ Apr 11 2025, 02:54 AM) samsung pass doesnt work? Minor upgrade are ok. But sometimes may be the bigger upgrade and banking apps asking to use password to log in again. The issue repeat until the next bigger upgrade. Same issue when you add an extra finger print (existing one still remains). Have to manually log in all over again.

QUOTE(PJng @ Apr 11 2025, 03:01 AM) I never want to use banking app at all, before BNM force use app, all i use mobile website for banking Many local app even banking ignore android back button, mean back on android does nothing, so i need keep kill the app as cannot exit app You should use Samsung's Secure Folder. It has one of the best security among all the other Android with both hardware and software protection. As good as Apple but doing it in a different way. It is basically a sandbox that is "cut off" from all the other stuff on the phone. Think of it as having a "separate phone" for banking. Secure Folder is the main or only reason why I keep using Samsung. https://www.androidpolice.com/samsung-secure-folder-guide/

QUOTE(1hoohoo1 @ Apr 11 2025, 06:39 AM) RHB and OCBC fail in samsung secure folder after recent updates. RHB keep on direct out to its webpage, while OCBC detect as virtual environment, refuse to run the app. that is interesting. Touch wood. Public and Chartered and Alliance and MBSB and Ambank so far all working. HSBC works but only if I use original Samsung keypad. But I don't use RHB or OCBC. Even Anydesk works fine.

QUOTE(plain_white @ Sep 17 2025, 06:48 AM) Same thing happened to my S23 ultra. Samsung's quality is deteriorating. After the delay of oneUI 7 for the previous flagships, I am very disappointed with Samsung. I think Samsung has been stagnant for few years. Even the upcoming S26ultra leaks is quite meh. Now, I am seriously considering switching to iphone 17. You think Apple has big improvement? Or same slow-slow same-same like Samsung?

QUOTE(edan1979 @ Sep 19 2025, 03:21 AM) all phone kind of feel the same nowadays... all stagnant. Look at the bright side, because there is hardly any improvement especially in the camera area, we can kill the thought about needing to upgrade. Save money. p.s. Now the only thing that may prompt my upgrading is battery life.

QUOTE(plain_white @ Sep 20 2025, 12:20 AM) I would say almost stagnant as well. But we hardly heard of any hardware issues such as back cover popping out or green line issue etc. Software updates are consistent and uniform across all models of iphones. Unlike Samsung who deliberately delayed the oneUI 7 to boost the s25 sales. The gap between the 2 platforms is slowly disappearing. Samsung and google are trying to be apple. Might as well get the real one. Personally, I don't like everything proprietary. One reason I stick with Samsung is DEX that I need to use.

QUOTE(craxors @ Sep 20 2025, 09:50 AM) but no more dex for pc. If I already have a PC, why would I want to use DEX? My usage. I get a cheap kosong monitor instead of a laptop (full of private data and sensitive info etc) when traveling. AFAIK, beside Samsung, Huawei has similar function as DEX but not buying Huawei for obvious reasons. So Samsung it is This post has been edited by touristking: Sep 20 2025, 05:01 PM

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Sep 20 2025, 10:11 AM) Honestly DEX is so limited and unlike Windows. Heck, I would rather take my mini pc (Intel N97) out on vacation and connect them to the tv rather than using Samsung DEX. I think Android can try as much as they like to emulate a pc but when it comes to true x86 support, Android is nowhere. It is merely a wannabe for people to access Google/MSFT services on the go and if you dont use these, chances are DEX is pretty useless. Only using MS Office software and nothing demanding like CAD. So good enough for me.

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Oct 3 2025, 01:45 PM) Not sure what they wanna update anymore. Very bloated nowadays with Google stuffs that I cant removed. Maybe wanna try Huawei HongMeng OS. As long as Huawei took effort to make their phone compatible with local banking and ewallet apps, I can try them just fine for my work phone despite the inferior hardware. Huawei is a case of a fully grown man bullying a baby.
