Update on my Samsung S23 Ultra issue (dead pixels):

Today I went to the Samsung Service Center at Lowyat Plaza for the dead pixel problem near the camera bump. The staff told me the whole screen needs to be replaced and it would cost around RM1300 including all fees. They also mentioned dead pixels usually spread across the screen over time, and in my case it might have been caused by “pressure on that area” though honestly, I never dropped this phone. I’ve only been using it as a backup device, mostly at home or in the car, so it’s been handled with care.

My device is 1 year 2 months old ,already out of warranty. I requested if they could replace the screen the same way they are doing for the green line cases, but they refused. Apparently, Samsung only covers the green line issue under their special replacement program, but not dead pixels.

Honestly, I feel like Samsung’s quality has gone downhill these days. For a flagship device like the S23 Ultra, you really don’t expect dead pixels to appear this soon, especially with such light usage. Quite disappointing to see this kind of issue .

Just sharing my experience here in case anyone else runs into the same situation.

Not sure what they wanna update anymore. Very bloated nowadays with Google stuffs that I cant removed. Maybe wanna try Huawei HongMeng OS. As long as Huawei took effort to make their phone compatible with local banking and ewallet apps, I can try them just fine for my work phone despite the inferior hardware.

For one UI 8, to access Dex, need to add an icon in action center

I didn’t get the replacement yet. I only requested them to replace it under the program as the green line issue, but they didn’t agree. So, I haven’t replaced the screen for now

My DEX icon is already there in UI8. But it is not working properly. Only fixed by deleting UI8 cache and data

If out of warranty, naturally they will charge you a fee.
But for flagship or the price range, i'd expect they offer 2 years warranty but nope, you have to buy samsung care

I had Tab s10 ultra before, used for 6 months, i didn't wait for issue appear and just straight away sold it off for 3.3K

For phone i will only buy Op because 2 years warranty....

i like the one UI8. samsung keyboard is very refreshing. App icon also more cantik. lol

Android 17 will be last updates for S23 series

I can't seem to use the forward/share function to inside secure folder d, after the update yday...
Any1 know how to fix this?

Read about Samsung wanting to make Secure Folder more secure or using Android Private Space code so several things that previously working but no longer in One UI8/Android 16. Beside forwarding issue, some banking apps now no longer work

On mine, even DEX was broken but luckily can fix.

i think s24u is the best option for ultra with s-pen full features.

unless the come back with all the remote thingy in next ultra.

Got plenty of moolah but turns out i unable 2 keep up anymore

Not because i cannot afford but rather money phone i can use pump more invest 2 grow more higher

Gone the days where 3310 can last 10 years max and this is towards the group that successfully resisted iPhone 3GS 4 and 5
