Hi,

Just got back from my Turkey trip last week. Spend 12 days in Turkey, went to Istanbul, Bursa, Cappadocia and Uludag Mountain (Ski Resort). Travelled with wife and my daughter and all are done DIY. Only City tour/historical locations i.e. Hagia Sophia, Bassilica and Topkapi we took the day trip tour from the local/online package. Rented a car from Avec and drove from Istanbul to Bursa/Mudanya and spend few nights there visiting the many historical sites and proceed to Uludag mountain which is a ski resort where locals and tourist go for some snow actions. From Uludag return back to Istanbul and continue visiting both Europe and Asian side which have the BEST historical places for both Muslims and Non Muslims since the Turkish history goes back many centuries ago. For me the food was the BEST if you try all the locals food i.e. Turkish coffee, Salep, Kofte, Kuzu, Ayva and many more. Do go for the street foods and restaurants where you can get a kebab/shawarma from 50TR to 120TR depends on the place and locations you go. By the way if want to go Cappadocia for the baloon ride and save on travelling time, can take the Anadolu Jet which is the Turkish Airlines budget airways and the price is quite reasonable for a return ticket considering you will save a lot of time from driving/taking bus (8hrs++) to only 1hr++.

All in all my Turkey DIY trip was the best I've done. Recommending for anyone looking for architecture/history/nice weather (Istanbul) and food adventure!

How much spent
*
The price when do DIY is cheaper than taking travel tours package and can spent more days over there. Using Turkish airline is about RM3888 return and for expenses up to you.

Is your itinerary suitable for young kids? Below 12
*
My daughter is 4 years old and you can customize your itinerary according to how many places you wan to visit a day i.e. 2-4 locations. If you're tired can just stop and relax and continue the next day. Plus kids below 5 is free for entering Palaces and Museums and no need to buy the Istanbul card i.e. Trams, Trains, Ferry for them since free also.
