bonus at lease 2 months...
medic, dental, optical
thats it......

if you work more than 1 year then you can loan your car at low interest but bear in mind, just 24 times of your salary...

example :

if your salary is RM1k
RM1,000 X 24
= RM24,000 (this is the amount you can loan)

housing loan is 100 times of your salary after 3 years of service

if your salary is RM3K
RM3,000 X 100
= RM300,000

My advise to everybody here, don't ever join IT Training Centre, Bangi as you will regret after you joined. Friendly speaking, PBB benefits is absolutely good compare to other banking company. If you are looking for money in yr earlier stage of yr career, you can go for it else please don't. If you are person who are looking to learn things up and gain more experiences, please don't ever try. I just quit PBB early of this month, I would say I had made a mistake to join PBB and this is the most horrible experience I ever had in my past few jobs.

Finally, I would say...think twice before you consider their job! (Just my 2 cents worth)

I wonder why everyone is having the same feelings with PBB now, I think they seriously need to reconsider many operations inside the organisation, many are leaving only after months working with them ...

SO AM I, a mistake joining as well, there's nothing that I can learn in becoming their so called "management trainee" who is simply dump into sales, for my position, they hire ppl from SPM grad to Master holders.

Do not join because of money, but look more towards your career in future, I am quiting because I do not see anything I can learn in selling insurance, I took my degree not to do this, seriously this isn't management trainee at all ...

Believe it anot, try it urself ...

I'm looking forward to join a company which I can gain great experience and long term employment. I would only say pbb is not a place that I would want to stay for long.

I had a friend who joined PBB january of this year...he being go to the bangi training centre last few months for the training also. First two month join PBB and doing nothing in the branch, he got the manager who had very bad temper and always 'kacau' him in the branch.
he told me, unless the branch no enough people to do work, or else, they kick the people out or force them to resign. Sometimes also felt strong political fighting issue in the branch environment.

My another friends work in telemarketing department of PBB previously, he said his manager always fcuk him up for the sales issues. then he had resign and joined AMbank, he told me ambank environment much better than PBB in term of stress, people and culture. He told me he love Ambank.

Added on May 10, 2008, 4:26 pmOne of the reason PBB offer RM2100 for SPM and RM2800 for Degree is because they want to compensate for their bad working condition people or top managers playing political issues and tension culture tension. If you join less tension organization like Ambank(except Mortgage Department), for sure the pay is low. that's call give and take.

so if u felt that u are the people who can tolerance with stress, good in playing political issues and work like cow, just go ahead to PBB. However, if u want to go back home on time and ensure ur heart beat and blood pressure is normal all the time, then u go for Ambank, Affinbank and CIMB also good.

Haha, totally agree with your words!!! SUPPORT!!!! Even other bank is better than PBB!!!
One more things, Chester...MBB is still the biggest bank in Malaysia, PBB is still third in bank ranking which is after CIMB. PBB can earn so much is because they cut cost in place wherever they could. So what do you think? shakehead.gif shakehead.gif

Bro, is that so important to be named as SECOND or THIRD instead of FIRST in terms of ranking?
Now we are talking about job prospect in PBB not discussing about total deposit, net revenue.

QUOTE(bryan829 @ May 10 2008, 08:09 PM)
One more things, Chester...MBB is still the biggest bank in Malaysia, PBB is still third in bank ranking which is after CIMB. PBB can earn so much is because they cut cost in place wherever they could. So what do you think?  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif
*
QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ May 11 2008, 09:01 AM)
Public Bank is STILL the second largest bank in Malaysia in terms of total deposit, net revenue etc.
*
QUOTE(bryan829 @ May 11 2008, 01:15 PM)
Bro, is that so important to be named as SECOND or THIRD instead of FIRST in terms of ranking?
Now we are talking about job prospect in PBB not discussing about total deposit, net revenue.
rclxub.gif

As you can see, i was merely correcting your mistake. And as you should know, there are many ways of defining "the largest bank".

QUOTE(bryan829 @ May 11 2008, 01:21 PM)
I can't tell you more generally here as here may have PBB spy snuffling around. What I can tell you that, management and environment isn't as good as you think. Furthermore, I am not enter as fresh grad.
*
Well, just say whatever you know. They really could be PBB spies here but they don't know who you are. So you shouldn't be afraid to sound your opinions.

Diploma get 2.1
SPM I think around 1.5-1.6 .. If you apply for executive position, does not apply for tellers
*
My friend applied using his SPM certificate last year in July, as soon as he decided he doesn't want to sit for STPM in November. He is now working at the counter at one of PBB branches in Kota Kinabalu and earning RM1.7k/month.

QUOTE(bryan829 @ May 10 2008, 02:46 PM)

*
QUOTE(princessgalaria @ May 10 2008, 02:58 PM)

*
i think i mentioned before in other thread bout bad experience working PBB.... but seems like no one really bother bout that but HERE'S THE PROVE.... they do really need to restructure their management or what-so-ever .... its making ppl become nightmare and i don even want to step in into pbb AGAIN

LOL... just because you are shareholder thats why you need those cheap labour to help you while u gain the profit wink.gif
no doubt PBB is very good in the eyes of lotsa people but not for the worker which don even being appreciated...
u should understand and sympathy with them as they make money for you ... and the company should appreciate them too... employees are company's asset don u know that.... without them no one will gain profit....

plus you don want all those ex-pbb staff stop supporting pbb and how long pbb can stand if those all staff talk bad stuff bout the bank with their relatives or fren.... pbb develop a lot of unsatisfied staff u know.... i have more that 12 ex-colleague that not goin back to pbb after resign... imagine, i only work bout 2 years and its already more than 12 in the branch i work, what bout other branch..... and what about before and after me....

you shareholder just don understand the feeling of the staff and how we faithfully help the bank during our service time but then without us, shareholder are nobody ....

How come their vacancies can open for so long? n seems like never close b4...

Is it they are so huge until they can afford unlimited hiring, then whr all the staff go? or because ppl inside keep leaving (run away) tats y they need to hire?

If the salary is high, good benefits... why ppl keep running away?

ppl running away for some reason... n donno abt others, but if its me, if everything are fine... i wont run away tongue.gif

im not a staff there... but... donno la... u all make the analysis and conclusion >.<

Added on May 16, 2008, 11:51 ambtw, im still waiting the call from them whether i get the offer anot... XD

you got the point here... just because ppl cannot tahan then they run and PBB keep hiring cuz no one can fit in the position for longer period of time.... nobody want to leave the company, if the company is good... u think ppl really like to jump and hop from one job to another job... Good company keeps and appreciate and value their staff.....

even if the salary / benefit is high, you don see its worth it cuz it eat up too much time of yours... my ex-colleague said that sometimes we need to be happy with our job or else we arent healthy at all... what is it for if you get all those money but you arent healthy at all, at the end you spend those money on your medication... you stress out a lot and i used not to have migraine and gastric... doctor said, i have this because of over stress and lack of rest... sometimes you gotta work until 11pm and then the next day do the same thing again and your mind just wont stop cuz of crowded things and pressure form the boss....

all the best for you, if you want to work there...

sure you get the fun part too like bonus is sooo0000 generous but if you think is worth it then why not give it a try or else you wont know the feeling.....

I think it depends on which department you work and the branch ...

I would say not the whole PBB is that bad afterall ...

Just that the one I'm currently in, which is so new, whenever I ask things these two newly built alliance company keep pushing the responsibility to reach other. I called up 3person to get an answer I want, how great ... believe it anot this department only have around 5ppl in the HQ. I'm hire by PBB but I'm actually under their alliance company, it's that company ppl who controls me.

Also, what I read previously about annual dinner is so true, they ask the girl staff to dress "sexy" two piece ... they'll ask you to send in the photo, height and weight for the management to see.

depends on where you are working, I've got an bad experience because my dept is way too new and everything is unorganized, since I came in for 1 and half months until now I don't have a telephone/PC

So everyday I have to see who's on leave and sit their place if I want to do telemarketing. I'm provided a table but it's a place that customer won't even step a foot in ... imagine how to do sales? Not to mention some people there is extremely racist

bonus at lease 2 months...
medic, dental, optical
thats it......

if you work more than 1 year then you can loan your car at low interest but bear in mind, just 24 times of your salary...

example :

if your salary is RM1k
RM1,000 X 24
= RM24,000 (this is the amount you can loan)

housing loan is 100 times of your salary after 3 years of service

if your salary is RM3K
RM3,000 X 100
= RM300,000
*
hmm, the low interest rate will still apply if you leave public bank?

However, if u want to go back home on time and ensure ur heart beat and blood pressure is normal all the time, then u go for Ambank, Affinbank and CIMB also good.

no OT la bro. lol banking industry where got OT.

i applied for management trainee but bare in mind that there is NO management trainee program in PBB (rotations, etc tak ada)

so where there is a vacancy, they chuck you in based on whether they deem u suitable for that position.

and mostly in PBB's available positions are in sales

its def not easy being in audit environment esp in pbb... hahas !! cuz you are not only need to be familiar with the bank practices and regulation ... u need to check thru each and every work other ppl do whether they did it in right way or not !!

gosh, as long as i work in pbb, i remember, i never like auditors !! cuz, for us, they dunno well our practices and keep deducting mark and complaining so forth !!

Good luck

depends on department I think.

Public bank rewards those who can work hard and fast. So Type A personalities are very much in demand, esp in sales.

But while the pay itself is slightly lower than average, the sheer amount of things that you can claim back for cash is astounding.

The fun part of pbb is that they focus on INTERNAL rotation. So they place existing employees first. Its hard to get in, but once you are in you never want to leave biggrin.gif

Of course, the fact that they have tons of incentives is icing on the cake

That depends on your interview performance.
If not mistaken, Exe = 2.8 to 3.5; S/ Exe = 3.2 to 4.7

heh~ PBB not good huh... I thought quite okay wat. Got a friend of the family work inside for close to 10 years or so. Said that if you're an officer (the ones behind the scenes) - sux to be you.

But if you're a front office service / counter personnel - good for you (if you can take the heat). Pay is good, got overtime. Officers no overtime as they get lump sum per months for salaries.

Opinions? From those who worked at PBB for a year or more? Share your experiences more please.

93% of the high management from internal promotion. i think the culture is very strong n typically very hardworking organization. if pbb is not good idk which bank is, seriously. i know many ppl who work with pbb ,theyr of mixed positions; managerial n officer ranking, who've two digits years of working in the org. none felt the same way most ppl here. two digit experience is more solid than most ppl fragile impression, emotion, crap here, no offense. barely really knowin the org, n u think u know it already. sry im not pbb staff but ive my credential to say i know the org not a stranger level.

work in accounting big4 oso same like will work very hard...be realistic la, work everywhere will be oso same if attitude is same =.=
