hi, just wanna confirm if everyone's laptop becomes warm at the palmrest area when plugged in. note that the battery is fully charged, to make sure the heat doesnt come from the battery.

cuz my laptop is warm at the palmrest when idle, fully charged.

thanks...

1. lenovo yoga slim 7 carbon
2. yes. however i have applied my own settings. but it happens on both settings.
3. intelligent cooling from lenovo vantage app and balanced on windows.

i have tried battery saving mode as well. thought it came from the cpu.

however after further testing, the heat becomes more obvious when the laptop is actively charging, shutted down. the heat spread pattern is exactly the same i experienced (center of heat wasd keys, spread to palm rest).

even when the machine is in ac mode, still kinda warm.

If your notebook is new, they intake and exhaust should be clear of dust. I suspected the Lenovo tune the CPU capacity to its max able to run up to 90'C above (common nowadays)

1. For power plan, try restore default the balanced plan and use it.

2. Disable processor boost mode processor boost mode
-- Open "cmd" as administrator and run enter "powercfg.exe -attributes sub_processor perfboostmode -attrib_hide".
-- Press the Windows key, type “Edit power plan”, and open the app with the same name. Click on Change advanced power settings.
-- Select Processor power management: Processor performance boost mode. Change the option to Disabled.

Try monitor whether these solve your issue.
