Alright, so a small initial thoughts comparison of the Poco F3 and F5.

Screen wise, the Poco F5 has smaller side bezels than F3, but the hole punch selfie camera is a bit bigger.

Weight difference unable to feel in hand, but in my saggy pants, apparently got difference, it doesn't sag as much.

Blue matte colour on F5 feels a bit less premium than the white matte on Poco F3.

Transferring data was weird, I needed to update a the apps in the Play Store and update Poco F3, before the transfer went smoothly.

67W charging is blessed, compared to 33W on Poco F3.

Matte Blue F5 feels cheaper than Matte White F3, but the plastic I can say feels on par with flagship plastic found on Samsung Galaxy S20 FE and S21.

Weight difference unnoticed in hand, but noticeable in pocket.
*
but is the blue colour actually nice to look at?

mind to take some pictures on your blue F5 share share brows.gif

i wanted to get blue colour but very hard to get so just fucked it and went for black.

Sure blue looks reflective with matte sandstone-like back~ The sides are flat but with minor curvature to help with better grip
*
ahh yeah.. the colours on F5 kind of turn-off then for those who like minimalistic classy look.

the blue has like glitter-ish effect instead of solid matte blue.. solid matte blue would have been very very nice..

and the black also got stripe-like effect on it..

and well the white, we all know looks like snowflake effect..

how about EU Rom? 5g is ok?

im ok with the warranty as im not in Malaysia now. Main concern is whether banking apps will work.
*
its the hardware itself doesnt support malaysia's 5G band..
nothing to do with the software iirc, happy to be corrected on this..

if you not in malaysia then go check the country you residing in whether the 5g supported.. but warranty will be a headache for you la if you buying note 12 turbo in malaysia and staying other country.. so you have to send back to seller in malaysia first then only seller send back to china

I'm using note 9s on miui13. The auto-start will always default to off by itself again even when I don't reboot the phone.
Do you have this issue?
*
for notification bug i find most of the time the culprit is battery saver.. so just turn it off for the affected app..

https://beebom.com/how-fix-notification-iss...mi-poco-phones/

there's 3 approach to this:
1) enable auto-start
2) disable battery saver
3) lock the app

try 1 and 2 first. if still not solved only try 3

1&2 already tried. Reluctant to try 3 because there are a few such apps to consider, plus my phone only has 4Gb RAM and the phone is already slow enough.
So wondering if poco f5 will have the same issue though.
*
hmm personally i dont face this issue so i cant tell.. what apps giving you trouble?

for whatsapp i did have notification delay at first but that is fixed by turning off battery saver..

and the only app i need to lock is spotify because i find that when using with bluetooth in car, after returning to car i cant play songs on my car's media player and have to use the phone and open spotify first.. the issue was the app was already put to sleep thats why.. so after locking the app it solved for me and when i return to my car i can straight press play on the media player. no need touch my phone..

Whosecall and Garmin Connect (to connect to my Garmin watch) are two of them.
*
i dont use those apps, so i have no experience on them.

but if done the above steps still dont fix it then unfortunately it is MIUI problem..

Ive used Samsung, asus and xiaomi phones. The latter is the one with many glitches. Sometimes icons in the bottom bar in home page will disappear and re-appear after rebooting. Things like that.
*
MIUI not that polished compared to OneUI.
but i like MIUI features more than OneUI.

the bugs/glitches for MIUI doesnt really affect my usage/enjoyment of the phone so im ok with it..
and tbh i rarely encounter bugs/glitches, and been using F1, F3, F4 and now F5/F5P.
Maybe cause im a lightweight user, my phone is mainly used for internet stuff like browsing/shopping + media consumption only..

if MIUI is bad for you, maybe can try flash a custom ROM if you know how to do it

MIUI still have delay notification issue for common app like whatsapp.

Those already been issue for so many years.

That's why I dislike MIUI.
*
turning off battery optimization for whatsapp always solves it.

and only need to do it once, i do it at same time as turning off ads when setting up phone the first time..

so its not like it will be a recurring issue hmm.gif

Hi peeps need advice here. May I know what the difference is between the Global version and the Malaysia version that advertise on the Lazada store? and they claim that the global version warranty is covered by Xiaomi Malaysia, is that true?
*
actually there is no malaysian set.

malaysia stock is all global set.. so malaysia/global both same thing

Oh ya one more thing, is NFC important in Malaysia? I am looking at RN12 4G and RN12 5G rn.
*
the question is not whether it is important in Malaysia.

it is whether it is important to you. only you can answer that lol

but having NFC is convenient la. can topup tng nfc card as well..

RN12 4G comes with NFC right..?

you try search in settings menu "double tap to lock screen"
see got any options come out?

cause miui 14 they re-arranged the settings menu and sub-menu, quite confusing now compared to miui 12/13.

so in case for your phone the settings dont know got hide under some other sub-menus..

if still dont have then i really no idea dy

EDIT: i read online this could be a POCO launcher only feature. dont know how true, yours is under redmi right.. need other redmi users to confirm for you.

if you want it, then can install poco launcher. then you can get app drawer + double tap home screen lock too
