QUOTE(redken @ Oct 18 2007, 11:55 PM) We play games not pixels. We watch movies not resolution lines. End of debate. edit: N Kojima and Nintendo are right. sorry but IMHO, 480p nintendo looks crap..

ouch this is a big blow to those who spend so much on Sony's ridiculous LCD price like paying 8k for something that only can display 1080, but something better out there cost around 5k plus...tisk tisk tisk.........technology is moving way way too fast!

why bother with such product? picture quality will suffer everytime after conversion, so why convert an already sufficient 1080p to a compromised 1600p is beyond my knowledge. unless someone comes out with products that output 1600p natively this product is just an overpriced junk aimed at less knowledgeable but rich consumers.

Dear All,
I am very close to some Blueray distributors and bleuray sellers...and in the year 2015...Japan will release Super High Defination which is 4 times larger than Blueray ( 1080 x 4 ). Electonics and digital stuff have life span of 10 years max according to most manufacturers.
With the bad economy our GOVT is providing to us and the hype of petrol raise... I wonder how are we going to catch up these lifestyle? We are playing blueray now and others are going something beyond blueray...
By the time we save up, something new arrive...and double the price.
Happy and Sad ...

I believe they have the technology already. It's just that electronic manufacturers are trying to cash in on the current released technology before releasing a new 1.

I'll just stay happy with my 1080i and laugh at everyone crying about how they bought a 1080p and have to change to a 1600p

hurmm.. they should make an industry standard. if things keep like thing, until when we're gonna live with this.keep on changing.but for now, 1080p is enough. it's tv, not like other computer peripherals.
