It features a stunning 2560x1600 widescreen ultra-high resolution and uses the Silicon Optix Realta HQV video processor for incredibly detailed images. In addition, the display's advanced upconversion makes standard-definition video look high-definition, and will even upscale 1080p high-definition video to an astonishing 1600p.

QUOTE
Additional features contribute to the display's crisp, vibrant visuals, including the 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 brightness and fast 6ms refresh rate. The premium viewing experience is further enhanced with an ultra-wide viewing angle of 178 degrees both horizontally and vertically.

At the selling price you can get a 3007wfp together with a 2407wfp...

or 3x 2407wfp-HC

or two 37inch full 1080p LCDs TV.

scaling 1080p to 1440p(assuming is 1:1 stretching) is still 1080p content.. and may look worst than a native 1080p panel... if 1080p is stretched to 2560x1600p then,.. it will be even worst..

Full native 1600p only with one DL-DVI connector is a letdown

Yah really pointless! Keep getting higher and higher resolution! But the console or machine nowadays cant really fully support 1080p, now want go 1600p! To process picture to such size i think the 3D card need to be damn canggih one!

I heard now already got 3D TV! Watching movie like in IMAX but no need the google!

You do realise that the lcd is mainly marketed as a pc monitor instead of an AV product? doh.gif If you wanna talk bout hi-def video stuffs, there's already the 2K (2048 x1107) and 4K (4096x2214) standards for studios n digital cinema for so long. wink.gif

why do you think i posted it here instead of the Audio Visual thread tongue.gif

anyhow, PC monitor does not need HDMI nor the expensive Realta HQV processor. Dell, HP and Apple were doing fine without the two. wink.gif

We play games not pixels.

We watch movies not resolution lines.

End of debate. tongue.gif

edit: N Kojima and Nintendo are right.
