If got timber flooring, still need skirting to hide the expansion gaps at the corners. The same goes for marble and tiles.
Floor skirting, Is it still necessary?

Personally, I don't like skirtings be it marble, timber or PVC. Too fugly.
I rather use a edge cutter to trim the timber flooring nicely and straight and fill the edges with silicone. Gaps under 10mm evenly. Unfortunately, many contractors don't have such tool to do the job. They mostly used traditional tools. |
