But I don't want to remove/destroy existing tiles in my home  sad.gif

Install spc with skirting dont have to remove or destroy existing tile. They installed over your current tile and skirting.

Crazy meh 7-8cm skirting.
Even 1.5 cm better don't do.
If you mean the edge profile that terminate between floor and wall is not skirting.

Floorboards expanding is a real thing though. Those things can really mess up your floor. I learned this the hard way because I didn't want to have skirting sad.gif

Even worse. Your vacuum will keep hitting the bottom your wall it would damage faster than the rest of the wall.

Nope..

Spc flooring is like lego..

2 kind of spc..
1 is come with cushion foam layer
1 is no cushion layer, so need to put a layer of foam sheet 1mm..

Then.. place them and assemble like lego and clip on..
Leave a gap of 1 to 1.5cm from wall.. then install skirting..

Good luck when u mop floor. Your walls will be black after awhile.

interesting quote from NYT (they call skirting "baseboards" in US):
Baseboard molding was originally called ''mop board,'' because it protected the lower walls from the splash of wet mops.
