heard of terrible user experience with oneplus software in the past few years. Is it getting better recently?
Want to make a move into flagship phone after using budget phone (RM<1k) for all my life, currently contemplating on S23+, Oneplus 11 or the upcoming Iphone 15 pro.

Been using OP since OP3t to now still using OP7Pro. At most only issue with software, where android updates (from android 7 to android 8) fuck up the system then have to reset 1 or 2 times or reflash the update see how tech savvy you are.
Which can occur to every android phone back then. You may think I used only OP phones so I may be biased. But I do read up on other user experiences on other brands and also have found that they have the same issues.

All I can say is, the software experience isn't better or worse (I may say it's better than other China OSs and old Samsung OS). The latest Oxygen OS is as good as other brands flagship with just minor difference in the user experience with minor cons and pros between each brands.

Just ordered OP11 and can't wait for it to arrive. No opinion on Iphones, they just work I guess.

OP11= RM3.6k,
S23+ = RM4.6k,
IP14Pro/IP15Pro = RM5k. You make your own decision.

s23+ 1k more expensive that oneplus 11, most obvious advantages is the x3 telephoto zoom, that's tough pill to swallow

for software wise, both promise 4/5 updates, thats good enough for average users, oxygen os vs one ui, as different it might be, it's android, so functionality will be just the same

i would take oneplus 11 if i were you, except u can't stand curve screen

iphone 15 pro might touch 6k when launched, that's too much money for a phone

Tbh all the phones you listed will be a big upgrade coming from a budget phone. If money no issue and you like iOS, then iPhone is the best (reflected in the price as well). Otherwise OP11 is a great all-rounder…I’m switching from an S21 cause I’m bored of Samsung lol. Had OP3 years back

S23+ = RM3.8k + free rm400 estore voucher to buy accessories (rm4.6k - rm600 rebate - rm200 voucher code)
OP11 = RM3.6k + free earphone

I personally think S23+ is has more value for the current price.

I think s23+ better if you are going for the way someone suggested above. That way then you can get similar price. If price is similar then obviously s23+ is better, support is much better with wireless dex and Samsung pay. Accessories also easier to find.

S23+ = RM3.8k + free rm400 estore voucher to buy accessories (rm4.6k - rm600 rebate - rm200 voucher code) RM600 for trade in old phone
OP11 = RM3.6k + free earphone (RM869, you say they don't worth that much then RM500 - free case RM89 - free extra 1 year warranty (total 2 years) + 1 year replacement screen for any damage even self accidents)
Then OP11 = RM2.8k?

If you say S23+ has more value... Well, you do you.

the rm600 is given u have valid old phone laying around, that is very condition

say u have s21 still using, wont it better to sell it in mudah to get more than 600?

and the 600 wont work in sabah and sarawak (no instacash)

the rm200 discount is finishing fast, not everyone get that

the 400 one, most of the useful accessories always finished

for oneplus 11, all u have to do is preorder before the dateline

You so have a point there. But for OP11 Pre-Order where you get the free Buds 2 earphones worth RM869 and the Bumper Case worth RM89.

So Rm3599 - RM869 - Rm89 = Rm2641. So its still roughly Rm1.2k cheaper than the S23+.

I have access to special price for Samsung via Employee purchase program, where I can get S23+ 256gb for 3.7k+ and S23U 512gb for 4.7k+ (but too big for me) after discount, which is comparable with OnePlus 11 for 3.6k (can access official MY set with free gift for even lower price than RRP from phone dealer).

Also considering upcoming iphone 15/pro/plus with budget below 5k (see which one worth getting).

If I am to continue with android, S23+ VS OnePlus 11, OP11 obviously wins in terms of hardware offering I believe?
I value battery life, camera, and overall user experience, I mostly use my phone for fb, WhatsApp, Instagram, browser, reading work email etc.
S23+ only has 1080p display, smaller battery, slower charging, but bigger branding and access to service center all around Malaysia.
OP11 has QHD screen, bigger battery and faster charging, but branding wise lose out to Samsung, fewer service center should there be any accident, lower resale value etc
Please help me to decide

I'd get S23+ at that price. S23+ can be considered a complete package worth it at that price. Only losing to OP11 at battery. FHD vs QHD wont be much of a difference that you can really notice.

if u can get epp, i suggest u get s23+

s23+ got amazing battery life eventhough battery are smaller, i think it have to do with e6 display (oneplus 11 using e4 less efficient)

camera wise, i think they both trade blows, but like i said, x2 tele in oneplus 11 really cant cut it

since u worry about service center, u should take s23+

but bare in mind oneplus 11 got 100w chargin with charger in the box, s23+, u need to buy 45w charger (or compatible gan charger), and a 5A cable(coz samsung too clever to put 3A which limit to 25w)

If same price definitely s23+. The hardware advantage is not much and s23+ did win in certain aspect.

S23+
1. Better soc overclocked 8 gen 2 for galaxy
2. Better protection victus 2 front and back (op 11 only front is victus 1, back is gorilla 5)
3. Better water protection ip 68 vs ip 64 (64 just splash resistance, cannot submerge in water)
4. Better software support (the best after pixel)
5. Samsung dex (remote PC with just a display wired or wireless)
6. Samsung pay
7. More service centre and accessories availability
8. Better video output at front and back camera
9. 10gram lighter
10. Brighter display although resolution not as high as op 11 but such a small display I doubt it will make a lot of different and lower resolution translated to lower power consumption.
11. Better photo post processing
12. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging (useful to charge some small gadget like earbud that support wireless charging)

OP11
1. Higher display resolution but lower brightness
2. Better second & third camera spec but smartphone photo taking cannot look at spec alone. Post processing is very important like pixel able to output better picture although poorer camera spec
3. Bigger battery (5000 vs 4700) but it have higher resolution so I doubt there will be much different on battery life
4. Faster wired charging (100w vs 45w) but doesn't support wireless charging or reverse wireless charging. Some might argue faster charging heat battery faster and shorten life span

If I am you, definitely will got for s23+ since the price is same. After I list down then only I aware hardware offering wise s23+ is much better and software offering OP11 also cannot compete with s23

One more thing to add is that the Sammy community is much more bigger (just look at lowyat thread pages s23 reached 200+ pages but OP11 just 10+). I suppose if facing any issue bigger community is more helpful.

If RRP price, I think OP11 more value for money vs Samsung.

But since Samsung PO offer quite good value, I have chosen s23 after bad experience with 8T

For OP, better pray for no hardware issue, their after sales service is quite terrible.
No service centre for walk in, need post the phone to them and wait few days for them to check.
