My friends from Penang go there every month.. Haha.. Heard he said all nightlife entertainment already open.. Golok also same.. But these 2 places I've never been there before coz besides party, I would like to travel around and finding foods.. So Hatyai makes more sense to me.. If just wanna party I would go Betong, which is the nearest to me..

It's true.. The last trip that I organised to Hatyai nearly went downhill.. Luckily other participants are tolerate enough.. 7 bikes from 3 groups of friends. One fella became barbaric after drinking.. Aside from that, it's a fun trip.. So anyone joining new people, make sure to have high EQ because we will never know who we will meet.. Anything unhappy or irritate you, just forget it until ride is done.. You can complain or boycott the particular person after that, but please don't spoil the mood of other during the trip..

These few days also weather quite bad.. Raining all day in KL / Sel.. Anyway, I'm quite used riding in all weather, and the main purpose for this trip is to drink only, haha.. So I guess weather not a big deal la, just if the weather is good then can roam around to find new places for foods..

After bought E101 ext. Do we still need to buy others? I thought it was already like first party insurance which cover everything? Never bought it before cause I don't know such insurance.. Just found out about E101 recently.. Haha.. Gonna endorse to mine on next renewal..

Malaysian side slow? Usually the borders I went thru is slow on Thailand side.. Malaysia side just drive by and hand them passports to chop.. Unless that day many Thai tourists coz they will need to come out and finger print, like we go in Thailand.. The same day I came back, my friend also stuck for near 3hours at Danok.. Haha..

Oh yes, my bad.. When returning, yea Malaysian side is slow on some customs.. Dannok is fine coz many counters for cars.. Betong is darn slow coz always open 2 counters only, and no dedicated motorcycles lane.. Motorcycles just cut in front of the queue.. Hopefully some car drivers can understand this.. Not that we don't want to queue, it is because if we queue, we will need to wait directly under the sun.. I drive and ride randomly anyway..

I didn't notice last petrol station because I was on car.. Refuel earlier because car fuel tank is big enough for me to travel in and out.. The insurance agent is located few KM before the border.. Look at your right when near to border, there are few lorry container (converted to office) which sell insurance.. Duty free shop is very tricky as well, and I doubt if it's operating.. Only noticed it when coming back Malaysia.. If coming from Malaysia, it's on right hand side as well and need to turn in small road., few minutes before reaching border, and there is a soldier check point right in front of the junction.. But it looks deserted for me.. I didn't turn in to check out..

I have went on early this month, so guess next trip should be early July so can't join.. But still not confirmed yet..

Yes Malaysia license can use.. Betong never check on insurance, so can skip.. Anyway, if just buying the compulsory ones, I think it's quite useless.. Only cover on 3rd party fatality, which I think is quite rare for bikers to cause death to others.. So if you don't want to spend too much to buy 3 insurance (to cover everything, quite like 1st party insurance here), just skip it and ride extra carefully and do not speed.. Me myself never buy any on my Betong trip.. I just ride carefully and mostly ride 40-50 there..

For Malaysia insurance to cover Thai accident need extra endorsement.. If just the insurance we renew yearly here doesn't cover there.. BTW, as mentioned earlier, can skip buying, just be extra2 careful no insurance..
