First question - why government school don't want to accept?

2nd question - Why additional language for IGCSE? You take IGCSE based on your uni planning. Take just appropriate subject ONLY. Nothing more.  whistling.gif  All my kids go through IGCSE. They took 6 subjects only, and all is in local uni now.   One in electronic engineering and one in computer science.

Career wise, as long as it's a recognised degree, with reasonably good grade of course, one can have a good career.  sweat.gif

Thank you for advise. Of course no pushing. Have you seen Oku parents pushing their kids in studies? What I came across from other Oku children punya parents all never want to stress their child.
The only people that pushing are teachers and school, all because their quota in exam scoring.

Not only my kid kena, I eventually found out alot of Oku children stopped their Srjk school , not because they want to but because of the school exam quota. They will force parents to tender a letter requested the child to be -out- from that school.
That was a good way of saying kena tendang lah.

Even in private school also got quota but they will not -out- the children la since the study were paid in hefty price.

Glad your kid made it. You did a good job.

Just wanna say I doubt it was because of race
I went to a SMK with the PPKI program and it seem to have a fair share of all races, in fact it had more nons percentage wise than the schools average.

Oh IGCSE is no problemo, its SPM equivalent, so unless your son choose to become a doctor or some government servant else no issues. My friends that did IGCSE all proceed to private uni with no hiccups.

All the best TS I know all parents want the best for their children.

This happens only if one is bumiputera. Only fair if you state this though else your advice is moot for TS.

It's ok , any advise is fine for me. I have stated my worry. After reading replies in my thread, It seemed to be quite simple I guess. IGCSE is equivalent to Spm and as long as my son able to pass IGCSE and get a decent job is fine.

There are also alot of cases where student passed IGCSE with flying colors but are not able to get into local uni but with hefty pay (again) opt for private. If my son is this good in study only I will think about it. I hate going through again with discrimination thoughts for local uni. So which was why I'm fine with him just get through IGCSE only.

He is only year 4 still early to tell his capability but he usually scores A but difficult in handling maths which he got average B+ or A sometimes

IGCSE is basically O-level in uk (SPM in Malaysia). In uk, its GCSE and can only be sat in uk home curriculum. IGSE is extended in collaboration, which means curriculum offshore.

Both are equally fine for A-level and then Uni admission. If you have plans for foreign uni route, yes just do IGSE here in Msia. A-LEVEL IS KEY

I am sure you know the difference. SPM to A-level and IGCSE to A-level, which has the mileage here.

Like our dad's time, mahathir, anwar secondary education in malaya > Cambridge general certificate O-level

Alternatively, you may check on VCE route in Msia (Victoria Certificate of Education).

Sorry to disagree. In the uni's form that I fill up, there's no bumi / non bumi column at all. 2 kids already. thumbsup.gif One have to navigate the hassle of going through the application and enrolment process. Need to talk directly with that uni's intake director / boss. sweat.gif It's a non UPU (SPM) pathway to local uni. Not easy, but doable. The ONLY local public uni that non bumi can't apply IS UiTM. That's all.

Hope you understand my main purpose of my thread.
And I'm sorry I don't know much about alot of edu sys but I do have relatives staying in SG, UK, US. That thought of him pursuing foreign country do cross my mind but I rather see how he goes here because no money I don't talk big or think big.

As I mentioned in my thread , I have no choice, he is unwanted by gov school. Just want him have a school to attend to, finish schooling, find ways to survive on his own.

Here I'm really greatful for everyone that gave your input. You guys help lessen my worry eventhough it's just a simple wish of mine. I'm closing this thread.

Other advance advice would probably help others parents of nons Oku students that kena tendang out from school. I understand your struggle. Be strong.
