I’m curious if anyone gave feedback to the person who first originated the info on the QE walk in interview - what happened actually here ? Wrong info from HR?

Another round of manpoŵer consolidation is imminent in Pet. About 3000 positions will be made redundant!

That’s a lot, any idea which business units are affected?

Also, assuming 50k total headcount (based on their LinkedIn page), that’s a 6% reduction

Toyo Engineering and Construction conducted a townhall today whereby they informed permanent employees of all grades that they would be on forced Annual Leave (Forced AL) with salary deduction beginning November and December Salary.

Number of Days on Forced AL: From 2 days onwards per month, up to 8 days.

Furthermore, allowances have been cut.

Yikes sounds like a rough patch, I would imagine employee turnover would start to increase but long service employees would lose the possibility of severance package if they resign, always a limbo/catch22 situation.

Was informed over the weekend that Orsted KL is in the midst of reducing headcount and quite a few have been let go since last month..

They did not secure a few operatorships and also hired too many Engineers in 2023 / 2022.
Term used  = Redundancy .

Wow redundancies happening in O&G and renewables

MODEC just officiated it's office on Tuesday in KL.
Plans to shutter / reduce ops for Singapore over next few years
Not mentioned officially

Senior Engineer salary 20k, able to attract easily the current pool from competition and consultants.

Nice, any chance to get in without FPSO experience but with fixed offshore facilities experience?

Bit of chicken and egg issue this FPSO thing
