That's my daily scent to the office for a few years already. Clean and subtle.

For perfume testing, better buy decants for testing, and make sure buy from original shops

Perfume doesn't really expire but the smell may change a little bit after a very long time (like lack of top notes). I have perfumes that are more than 10 years and they smell just fine. Remember to store them in cool, dry and dark places.

Yeah. Basically, just don't expose to light/heat to prolong the shelf life.

Yes. Great office scent, very clean, light and fresh. I dont like citrusy fragrance in general but this one is well done, soft and not piercing sharp.

I like Guerlain Ideal Cologne too, more or less the same scent profile but sadly discontinued.

Try the cologne of Trufitt & Hill. They have sampler bottles at their shops.

Nautilus Voyage? Is that a fake/clone or u mean Nautica Voyage?

Coincidentally, im wearing Nautica Voyage today, good scent for hot humid weather like ours assuming you're in Malaysia.

Other than that, the fragrantica best perfume list someone posted earlier is a good starting reference point.

Never blind buy a full bottle. Either go to shops to try it out first OR go to shopee etc, and try to look for Sample vials or decants of those fragrance you've identified. If u go shopee, only buy from 5 stars reputable seller, anything below, even 4.9 stars, avoid..too many fakes out there.

I've tried so many fragrances in the last few months and i'd say not everything that is highly rated is for everyone. Creed Aventus, Dior Sauvage, Acqua Di Gio profumo amongst others examples of highly rated fragrances that i dont really enjoy the scent of.

Below are some the ones that i particularly love from the top of my head.
YSL La nuit de lhomme (original EDT & Bleu Electrique)
Prada lhomme (Intense version)
Guerlain Ideal line (EDP, Extreme & Cologne are all nice)
Givenchy gentleman line (EDP, Boisee, Privee & Cologne is nice too)
Parfums de Marly Layton.
Chanel Bleu de parfum (EDP & Parfum)
Chanel Allure edition blanche (EDP)
Dior homme Cologne (White frosted bottle)

Also, perfumes do expired/go bad.

Nautica Voyage, I remember the name wrongly, but I see a lot of people recommend it

Smells like Ocean seems to be the running theme for many recommended fragrance, because of smell of freshness ?

One of your favorites (from the list) is Chanel Bleu De parfum, and I am looking for that. When is the usual sale/offer time for Chanel boutique? Will there be a Christmas Sale?

As far as I know Chanel and Dior don't give discounts for their perfumes, just give special packaging/samples on special occasions.

But at the airport dutyfree can get it at slightly cheaper price (like ~rm30 less).

I’m a bit old school. Favourite is Davidoff Cool Water. Always make sure to have a bottle of it around for the past 20 years or so. I find that the “cool” smell compliments oir hot tropical weather well. Second fave Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey.

As for the rest, I usually just leave it to family members coming back to visit from overseas. I just ask them to buy whatever they think would suit me from duty free outlets at the airports they’re departing from. Thanks to that “family tradition” I have a lot of unopened stock. Usually end up getting a Hugo Boss variant of some kind, for some reason. I guess it’s because Boss perfumes are a “safe” present for guys, similar to Ralph Lauren polo tees.

And no, afaik, perfumes/colognes don’t expire, but their smell can change a bit depending on storage conditions. I’ve had the same bottle of Dior Fahrenheit aftershave for almost 10 years (seldom use because it smells too formal for me) and if anything, I think it smells better the longer you keep it.
