i don't think ffdshow edits the actual subtitle files? or does it? if it doesn't its playback only edit. if you use like, for example vlc, it would use the original style, of course not with ffdshows setting. am i right?
well, what i'm basically saying is just edit the subs. just open in notepad. oh, you could use directvobsub. and check override placement, and choose your new parameter. //edit ahhhh, screw it. look picture. for ass.
