Hey guys! I'm back in Serous Kopitiam again.

This time I would like to get some recommendations for a washing machine as I'm planning to purchase a new washing machine.

My criteria is without dryer, reliable and priced below RM2,000.00.

Currently looking at Midea's but I'm not sure whether it is a good reliable machine.

Hope all sifus and washing machine owners can come and give some recommendations. notworthy.gif

You want good and reliable, get LG front load washing machine.
There is a specific washing machine thread also, search for it.

I bought 2 Midea. One 7.5 kg another 10.5kg. 7.5kg already broken after 3-4 years used, this one I put at my homestay. The 9.5kg one, bought in 2019 have problem will belt within 2-3 month use. Midea technician came and changed the belting (FOC - under warranty). Now no major problem but sometimes it not spin properly.

Previously I used LG 7.5kg washing machine for almost 10 years. After 8-7 years, got problem with it water pump (don't know what it call). After change it, another 2 years it got problem with belting. Cost a few hundred to change so I bought Midea one. Although it only 7.5kg but the capacity is like my current Midea 9.5kg.

So, if you have the budget, go to other brand, not Midea. I bought it last time because when my LG kong, ad hoc need to buy new one. So I get the cheap Midea.

I stand by Electrolux. My second unit into my 27 years of usage. Bear in mind, I only used it almost every week.

Budget RM 2k and still list Midea? nuuuuuuuuuuu

Midea is for budget-friendly single bachelor (heh) like students that will get rid of the machine in 3 years. It's not like they broke down fast, but they 'age' pretty fast. Like after using a few months you already notice it's making noises/feeling not new etc.

I think you won't go wrong with whatever brand the others advises as long as not it's Midea.

I personally like Panasonic. The previous machine was 8 years before I donate it because I want to upgrade. The new one is only 2 years so far, but still performing like 100% new (obviously just 2 years, any reputable washing machine should perform 100% like new I think).

Panasonic 11KG RM 1.6k

It is silent, the motor is very powerful like a tornado, Wide tub opening instead of a deep tub, foams up your detergent more (because a powerful motor that agitates water more + water blast thingy i dont know how to explain). But note that all these description probably can also be found in other reputable brand too. Just giving you some insight to what I like tongue.gif

See how it wash - and that's why water is very foamy because agitation+ many waterfall xP. Not the same model, but want to show the washing cycle which is identical.

I bought the Sharp 10kg top load DD washing machine. Been over a year, very happy with it. Easy to use. Large capacity. Got it slightly under rm1.5k

I like this model, the place I'm staying have a similar older model same capacity, the 60 C wash feature very good for washing robotvac mop pads and kitchen towels. Also cleans stain very well when use the stainmaster function.

Only thing different is noisy since it's non-inverter model (can hear the belt and stuff when washing etc).

LG washer is highly regarded worldwide

Samsung can accomodate high suds better, just don't overdose
Panasonic and Toshiba has good aftersales (parts) supply, and tahan

I've used Zanussi, Indesit both made in EU and they last for 15~20 years.
Zanussi replaced due to seal leak.

Indesit put outdoors under sun and stray cats... body rust like sh*t and still works. Door auto lock spoiled last year so it is now bypassed. The auto lock use thermal switch (heat up to lock) so after hundreds of lock-unlock will sure die.

Inverter DD are no belt. Modern washers more electronic, would be wise to invest in surge protector.

If want lasting, get good quality washers with mechanical mode selector type.
