I wonder how difficult, expensive, or troublesome to make something.

What i have in mind is a HDMI splitter, not duplicate the signal, but split them, ie you pump in 4K resolution HDMI(no HDCP) signal, then can get 4x FullHD(1/4 of the input) signal out

Ie

Input is 4k signal 60 fps
Output1 should be top left corner of the 4k signal, getting FullHD resolution at 60fps
Output2 should be top right corner of the 4k signal, getting FullHD resolution at 60fps
Output3 should be bottom left corner of the 4k signal, getting FullHD resolution at 60fps
Output4 should be bottom right corner of the 4k signal, getting FullHD resolution at 60fps

All output signals need to be frame synced, means if they all connect to 4 monitors, all frames are refreshed exactly the same time.

Input need to support 8k, and 4k resolution, 60 fps, so output will be 4k(if input is 8k) and FullHD(if input is 4k), other resolution/refresh rate not important. However need to provide EDID for 8k and 4k.

The company i working for looking for products like that but not able to find exact match in the market. Before i suggest to company to maybe start working out(make our own), i hope to get some basic information first.

Thanks for reading.

all requirements are compulsory, not optional.

The only way I see to contact local vendor and see what they have in market to meet this requirement. Not easy to get off the shelf.

nah please dont redirect the main purpose of the topic, this topic is about how much effort, money to put into creating a product that 100% fulfill our requirement. when we go look for alternative in the market, it always force us to change our requirement to fulfill the available products.

so to my understanding is you want 8k input to split in to 4 and not downsampled to each 4k monitor and 4k input to split and not downsampled to FHD.

am i correct?

what is downsample ?

look at this image and see if it explains

btw, need not to consider bezel compensation.

normally when playing 8k input to a 4k monitor the system downsamples the resolution to 4k to display else 4k monitor cannot display 8k resolution.

the picture you show is what a stacked monitor setup looks like.
maybe should consult the sifus at pc hardwarezone there.

nah, those only able to use existing hardware, they dont know how to make hardware.

whatever i describe is already simplified, it wont be just 1 signal to splitter then to 4 monitor, it might be ... 1 GPU 4x 8k outputs, each connect to splitter, then each splitter has 4x 4k output, then connect to another level of splitters again output to 4 FullHD monitors, so amount of monitor is 4(8k) x 4(4k) x 4(FullHD) = 64 for just 1 output card. not complicated things yet btw.

LYN has Electronics Enthusiasts Club forum thread started since 2005 (but quite inactive in these few years) where you can look for links and people who know electronics.

For example, in his first page listed several related forums:
