I am considering to get a wii coz it is FUUUNNN. I tested it yesterday when I was at Queensbay, Penang. However, the package seems to differ abit. The price is still RM 1699 for the US wii Sports but the Sonic game is no longer bundled it seems.

Anyone can throw some light into this? Buying from Jusco good? I am planning to go ori for this one

That seems rather steep, especially when it comes without a game. Why not plan a trip down here to KL and purchase from our trusted sellers? (or get them to send to you)

Can PM me some list of such trusted sellers? I have left console gaming since the end of PS1 and have only been reading up on the wii and its competitors these couple of days. What is the usual bundle for an ori US set? I tried contacting one seller and asked some honest questions but got bombarded

the price he gave me for us mod wii is rm1420 come with 1 original game and is mod with d2c...
just asking is it worth? i am really desperate to get the wii!!!
i try ask the shop in kuantan.. the price is about the same.. but they don know what mod chip is in the wii..

@ jeff: I can't give you approximated price, but I can tell you it's more or less RM1300 like what yawhong said.

It's best if you ask these guys to help you out. Just to add, if you're going original(US-set preferred), you can't go wrong with Gamers Hideout(other shops too, see below).

It all epends on ur budget

Well the modded versions are more expensive.

That's why i said depends on ur budget and yeah ur gaming style. If u prefer to sit through one game from start until finish and explore its details, then u buy the unmodded one.

One ori wii game would cost a little under a hundred something to almost 2 hundred. You should also look at Wii used games market if there's any.

Can modded ones play original games?

Yeah. Either way, it should work out to the same I think...

I just want Wii Fit + Guitar Hero... maybe modded version is the better way.

If u want wiifit n guitar hero, then u need not get the modded version since only the ori version come bundled with the guitar n the pad.

What's a Pad? So I can only go original if I want to buy the wii fit and the guitar hero?

sorry not pad, but the wii board (for wii fit)

if u just want to enjoy Wiifit and guitar hero then there is no need for u to buy the modded wii...

then what is a modded wii for? (sorry, if I'm asking dumb questions)

are there fake wii fit boards and fake guitar hero sets? (can they be modded?)

errr...modded wii is to play other region games (since jap wii can't play us game n us wii can't play jap games...this is also true for gamecube games that u wanna play on the wii) and of coz to play ehem games

fake wii boards n guitar? not that i know of

but seriously, are the games on wii really suits your taste? or do u prefer the ones offered by xbox360 and ps3? Coz the price is not much of a diff nowadays. So u better think it through.

Games are very scarce in terms of originality in Malaysia, because the demand is shifted to pirated software. So, if your main focus is only the Wii Fit and Guitar Hero, then u won't regret getting the unmodded version one.

But venturing to other games will be ur problem since the only way, sadly, is to buy thru online.

Question - will the Wii Fit and Guitar Hero screw up on a modded version?

I just realised the only way if I got the modded would be to go modded forever so I won't suffer any... chip problems.
