I got a number of friends in both MY and SG that got laid off. Whilst they were in tech companies, they weren't in tech roles.

nowadays no matter what field also get layOff these days. It seems Covid really hurt alot sectors till todate.
i was previously been layOff by HP in August 2022. Now doing Business Operation & development than have 18 years experience in IT.

I would say that if you were a high performing programmer, the chances of being laid off is definitely lower. Low performers are those that get the boot

If u are a good programmer or tech person, it shouldn't be that hard to get a new job. JobStreet filled with programmer job.
