Anyone got affected by Tech Layoffs? A bit worried as I'm a software engineer.

Software engineers are in high demand la... The hardware tech should worry.

I got a number of friends in both MY and SG that got laid off. Whilst they were in tech companies, they weren't in tech roles.

I guess it is always good to have a backup plan to prepare for the worst.

Marketing, admin, customer support, etc.etc..

Add one more big tech as everyone know, Google is planning to layoffs 10,000 employees who were low performing.

nowadays no matter what field also get layOff these days. It seems Covid really hurt alot sectors till todate.
i was previously been layOff by HP in August 2022. Now doing Business Operation & development than have 18 years experience in IT.

I would say that if you were a high performing programmer, the chances of being laid off is definitely lower. Low performers are those that get the boot

There's not much programmer demand in small towns too, like Sabah Sarawak

If u are a good programmer or tech person, it shouldn't be that hard to get a new job. JobStreet filled with programmer job.
